Kill, Steal and Destroy

kill, Steal and destroy

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
–John 10:10

When one is in league with a liar, one becomes quite accomplished in the ways of lying.

When one is in league with a thief, one becomes a thief.

When one is in league with a killer, one becomes skilled at killing.

When one is in league with a destroyer, one destroys.

When one is a follower of the One who gives life more abundantly, one values life and the many which have and make up life.

And this is the divide between the many followers of Satan (the thief) and the few followers of Jesus Christ.

Which is one reason the many HATE the few.

“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”
–John 15:18-19

Why do the workers of iniquity trust other workers of iniquity to NOT work iniquity when it comes to them?

MORE: Trusting the Untrustworthy

The thief will ALWAYS kill, steal and destroy.

When does the thief and the workers of iniquity say “I have enough. I do not need any more.”

So to all those who believe a liar keeps his promises: today, you may be a companion of a liar, doing the stealing and killing and destroying.

But tomorrow, will you not become the target of killers and thieves and destroyers?

HAS the reader convinced himself–despite the torment of constant worry and nagging doubts–that it will “all work out in the end“?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

The Bible’s Guide to Personal Finance

The Bible's Guide to Personal Finance

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
–1TIMOTHY 6:10

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT MONEY AND RICHES?

God’s Word has much to say about money, wealth and finances–particularly personal finances.

IF modern financial life was planned around the advice of the Bible, how many would then be blessed by their financial needs finally being met?

How many moderns would then know the blessings of abundance instead of constant, nagging doubts about “there never being enough to go around“?

As far as money goes, the reader could certainly do worse than strictly adhering to the Word of God.

With this in mind, here are 20 Bible verses–and biblical advice–concerning money, wealth and other financial aspects of life.

“He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.”
–Ecclesiastes 5:10

“The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.”
–1SAMUEL 2:7

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
–Matthew 6:19-21

“Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.”
–Proverbs 23:5

“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”
–Psalm 37:25

“The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.”
–Proverbs 13:4

“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”
–Hebrews 13:5-6

“The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour. He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.”
–Proverbs 21:25-26

“No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon [money].”
–Luke 16:13

“Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.”
–1TIMOTHY 6:17-19

“He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.”
–Proverbs 11:28

“But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”
–2CORINTHIANS 9:6-7

“He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.”
–Proverbs 28:22

“Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk. And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men. Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.”
–Matthew 22:15-21

“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.”
–Proverbs 10:4

“Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.”
–Matthew 6:1-4

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
–1TIMOTHY 6:10

“Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.”
–Proverbs 13:11

“And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”
–Matthew 19:24

“The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.”
–Proverbs 10:22

DOES the reader have difficulty keeping track of his finances?

DOES the reader have trouble keeping money, as if it sprouted wings and flew “away like an eagle“?

God’s Perfect Plan and Foolish Children

The Brat

“For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.”
–Jeremiah 4:22

THE PLAN

Suppose one was the Creator of all things.

Further, suppose one had created a new being: man.

NOW, suppose one desired this new creation (man) to truly worship his Creator. (The Creator was not interested in creating unthinking robots; He was only interested in those creations who TRULY of their own free will wished to worship Him.)

How would one go about this?

  1. Give man the ability to choose his Creator OR NOT. In this way, the Creator would know those who chose Him did so because they wanted to choose Him.
  2. Surround man with many other choices; choices which appealed to man’s senses. In this way, the Creator would know that man had not chosen Him because he had no other attractive choices.
  3. Introduce other entities which would entice man to choose options other than the Creator.  WARN man of these pitfalls, using God’s Word. In this way, the Creator would know that those who chose Him had to, not only forego other appealing options, but also had to make a commitment to the Creator in the face of opposition.

So, those who freely chose their Creator would have done so because they desired communion with Him IN SPITE OF OTHER, more sense-pleasing options.

In this way, the Creator would find those people who WANTED OF THEIR OWN FREE WILL to be God’s people.

The Creator has not been secretive about what His plan for man has been.

“And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:”
Jeremiah 32:38

“as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
2 Corinthians 6:16

“For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out.”
–Ezekiel 34:11

“And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.”
Jeremiah 24:7

“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;”
Hebrews 10:16

“and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people”
Hebrews 8:10

“Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
Ezekiel 37:26-27

“And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.”
Zechariah 8:8

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”
John 4:23

MORE: Looking for a People

FOOLISH CHILDREN

NOW, the Creator loves his creation (man).

“Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations”
–Deuteronomy 7:9

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
–Romans 5:8

Not only does the Creator God love us, He considers each man one of His children.

“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.”
–1JOHN 3:1

The Creator considers ALL men His children–even the wicked, who are sometimes called the “children of disobedience” or “children of wrath.”

“Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.”
–Ephesians 5:6

“Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”
–Ephesians 2:2-3

Even in a state of disobedience, God STILL considers the wicked man his child–right up until the wicked man dies.  IF the man repents, he become a full-fledged child of God.  IF the man dies in his sins, he remains a child of disobedience; i.e., one of the wicked.

“For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.”
–Colossians 3:6-7

God’s Word often uses the word “foolish” to denote wickedness or evil.

“But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.”
–Titus 3:9

“Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.”
–Matthew 25:1-2

“But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.”
–Ephesians 5:3-4

AND SO, the Creator fashioned a plan to find men who WANTED to be with Him, so that He could reward those people, gather to Himself a true people and be certain that these people REALLY desired to be His. Such people would have to go through a short time of trial on earth to prove that they REALLY desired to be the Creator’s eternal children.

AND those men who did not want to be part of this wonderful plan (with its eternal rewards)?

The Creator viewed such people as foolish children.

NOTE: Many of the most foolish are those who have the highest regard for their own cleverness and/or intelligence.

“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.”
–Proverbs 12:15

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
–Proverbs 14:12

DOES the reader ever ask himself “Why are we here?

DOES the reader believe himself too intelligent to believe God’s Word?

The Favorite Question of the Deceived

question

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
–Matthew 7:7-8

Though the deceived may be spiritually blind, they can see.

Though the deceived may be able to see, they cannot perceive.

Though the deceived may be spiritually deaf, they can hear.

Though the deceived may be able to hear, they cannot understand.

“And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.”
–Isaiah 6:9

“And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.”
–Matthew 13:14-15

SO, though the deceived may be desperately deceived, they are not physically handicapped.

They KNOW they are told lies.

They can see what happens to all those who make deals with criminals.

AND YET, the deceived continue on their merry way down the broad path to destruction.

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat”
–Matthew 7:13

The deceived have two strategies to maintain their deception while continuing in their delusions.

1 -Tell themselves it will “all work out in the end”–even if experience and their past results provoke the uneasy feeling it will NOT all work out in the end.

2 – Make sure they do NOT think much about it.  Think of something else, have some “fun,” distract themselves: anything but think of their coming judgment.

Which is why the FAVORITE question of the deceived is usually asked whenever they are FORCED to think about the many, MANY contradictory thoughts they carry around in their heads.

“What else can I do?”

Someone once said the best way to avoid answering a question is to answer it with another question.

But the favorite question of the deceived (“What else can I do?”) does not answer a question with another question.

It changes the subject completely.

From a conversation about escaping one’s deception, the conversation then becomes one of MANAGING one’s deception or one’s options of managing one’s deception.

“What else can I do?”

When the reader hears this question, the best answer is to give the deceived the gospel of Jesus Christ.

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”

For, IF the deceived accept the gospel of Jesus Christ, all of their questions will be answered.

And IF the deceived reject the gospel of Jesus Christ?

Their questions then become irrelevant.

DOES the reader, upon pondering the coming end times chaos, ever shrug his shoulders and ask “What else can I do?

HAS the reader ruled out the options from God’s Word?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Trusting the Untrustworthy

Agents of CHAOS!

“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”
–Proverbs 13:20

One of the main problems with trafficking in iniquity (sin) is the company one keeps.

It might be supposed that one would know full well the risks when one associates with the wicked.

But, observation, experience and history tell a different story: those who associate with the wicked many times believe that their wicked companions will act wickedly to EVERYONE ELSE BUT THEM.

Which is why so many are surprised when familiar thieves steal from THEM.

Which is also why so many are shocked when liars they know lie to them.

Which is ALSO why so many are baffled that con men with whom they consort would con them.

YET, those who traffic in iniquity make plans for the future as if their evil partners will not act as they normally do; i.e., in an evil manner.

Why is this?

1 – Many who traffic in sin not only deceive others, they themselves are deceived. This is true particularly in the end times.

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”
–2TIMOTHY 3:13

2 – ALL who traffic in sin are not only wicked, but also themselves deceived.

“And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.”
–1JOHN 5:19

“And the great dragon…that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world”
–Revelation 12:9

“Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked”
–Revelation 3:17

3 – Those who traffic in iniquity deceive themselves into believing they are not so bad.  Therefore, their companions must not be so bad.

“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes”
–Proverbs 21:2

“All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes”
–Proverbs 16:2

The basic problem of those whose companions are thieves, liars and con men is that the companions they have chosen WILL NOT (especially if given any opportunity) act any differently toward them as they do to their victims.

The reader may have heard the tale about “honor among thieves.”

However, IF the reader would honestly search his memory, he no doubt would have MORE recollections of the exact opposite behavior: no honor among thieves.

The basic problem of those whose companions are untrustworthy is that they must work and trust the untrustworthy.

The LORD is the only One man can trust.

Other men–particularly the untrustworthy?

Not so much.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
–Proverbs 3:5-6

HAS the reader fallen in or become the companion of the untrustworthy?

DOES the reader think that by “staying alert,” he will somehow stay a step ahead of those he does not trust?

DOES the reader believe he was meant to live this way?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

PROMISES: God’s Promises of Persecution, Tribulation and Hatred of the World for the Believer

promises

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
–2Timothy 3:12

Believers are given many wonderful promises from God.

BUT believers are also promised many things which do not seem as wonderful–at least from a worldly standpoint.

Believers are promised persecution.

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
–2Timothy 3:12

Believers are promised tribulation.

“Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”
–Acts 14:22

Believers are promised the hatred of the world.

“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”
–John 15:18-19

And all these things are not speculation on the part of God’s Word: they are certainties; promises made in God’s Word.

God’s Word contains many promises of blessings for the believer, BUT God’s Word ALSO contains the promises of persecution, tribulation and the world’s hatred for the believer.

However, it is by persecution, tribulation and the hatred of others that one can tell if his message is of God.  By the fulfillment of such promises, one may also be able to judge that God’s Word is true.

Persecution, tribulation and the world’s hatred: by knowing that God’s Word is true and such promises are a surety, the believer may prepare for the end times.

Has the reader lost those he thought were friends, jobs, money, worldly goods and circumstances and the acclaim of the world due to his commitment to Jesus Christ?

IF the reader is not actively suffering these things, perhaps now is the time to question where his true allegiance lies?

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

Three Reasons the Deceived Are SO Deceived

eyes closed: the deceived

1 – “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”
–Jeremiah 17:9

2 – “It’s easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.”
–attributed to Mark Twain

3 – “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness. We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.”
–Isaiah 59:2,8-9

One of the marks of modern man is that he believes he is “plugged in” to information; to the “news;” to the truth.

Modern man believes wrongly that he is too “connected” to be deceived.

Modern man believes he is too intelligent and/or clever to be deceived. (This is a direct product of an education system–public and private–which has indoctrinated its students into believing everyone is “smart;” everyone is “intelligent;” everyone is “special.”

Modern man believes he is NOT deceived because he “knows what’s going on.”

It is a distinction of deception that those who are most deceived by the world’s authorities believe the world’s authorities tell them the truth.

“Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.”
–Revelation 3:17-18
