Overheard several years ago:
“You don’t really believe all that Bible junk, do you? It’s just a bunch of stories!”
From previous statements made, it was obvious the speaker had been taught his disbelief from a young age.
Often, the workers of iniquity pass down their unbelief from generation to generation as if it is some carefully-guarded treasure.
But what they, in their ignorance, are really passing along (pretending it is super-secret, hidden knowledge) is condemnation and destruction.
Destruction and condemnation are perfectly fine for all those who willingly choose it, but it boggles the mind that, in their ignorance and pride, a parent would purposely pass down perdition to his children.
“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”
—John 12:48
—UNBELIEF: Passing Along the Myths of Ignorance and Destruction
Unbelief and faithlessness passed down through the generations from father to son; from mother to daughter; from grandparents to youngsters. Because these bedtime stories are circulated among those who usually possess certain advantages awarded by the world to the unbelieving, these benighted souls are deceived into thinking these stories are true–regardless of the many proofs which surround them which cry out that such fairy tales are not.
So, despite having all the power and means of the world, such stories remain–for a little while longer–mostly in the darkness, afraid to be exposed to the light.
Thus, one generation passes its unbelief along to another group of unsuspecting youngsters.
The unbelieving will NEVER run out of myths and legends explaining why Satan’s followers fail to outsmart, outwit or otherwise pull a fast one on God Almighty.
What is sad is that this unbelief once contributed to God nearly wiping man from the earth during the flood of Noah’s time.
“And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.”
–Genesis 6:7
“And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly”
–2Peter 2:5
These carefully-preserved tales of unbelief will contribute to God nearly wiping man from the earth upon the return of Jesus Christ.
That’s not merely sad, but tragic.
Tragic because pagans are NOT stupid.
Pagans are NOT necessarily unpleasant.
Pagans are NOT insincere (in many cases).
However, pagans ARE deceived.
HAS the reader been taught the myths and legends of unbelief?
DOES the reader place his trust in such tales because they are “traditional” or because they were told by older family members?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
