IF ONLY Modern Man Heeded the Words of Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ: The Living Word of God.
Jesus Christ: The Living Word of God.

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you”
–Mark 13:3-5

ACTUALLY, if men only followed what Jesus commanded in Mark 13:3-5 (Matthew 24:4).

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.”
–Matthew 24:4

The end times is a time in which man is supremely deceived.

Modern man is so deceived, he has not got a clue as to how deceived he really is.

And Jesus Christ first and foremost warned end times man to beware of the deception of the end times.

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.”
–Matthew 24:4

Yes, the end times are a time of constant, nearly-total deception.

Is the reader aware he is actively deceived around the clock, 24 hours a day, seven days a week?

Oh, if only modern man would heed the words of Jesus Christ.

“Take heed that no man deceive you.”

IF ONLY…

DOES the reader believe that some vague, nebulous human agency is watching over him, protecting him from the ubiquitous deception which surrounds him?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

Keeping a Journal

Journal

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”
–2CORINTHIANS 10:5

Once upon a time, there were many who kept journals of various flavors.

A journal, from the Old French “journal” (meaning “daily”), can refer to several things. In its original meaning, it refers to a daily record of activities, but the term has evolved to mean any record of activities, regardless of time elapsed between entries, such as a

  • Diary, a record of what happened over the course of a day or other period
  • Daybook, also known as general journal, a daily record of financial transactions
  • Logbook, a record of events important to the operation of a vehicle, facility, or otherwise
  • Transaction journal, a chronological record of data processing

Journals are kept for a variety of reasons.

  1. The workman might keep a journal of the details of his daily work: who it was for, how long it took and the nature of the work undertaken.
  2. A writer may have kept a daily journal of various thoughts, events and happening of interest he may wish to refer to at a later time.
  3. In earlier times, schoolchildren of a particular age were required by their science classes to record the types of weather, the temperature and/or clouds visible (as well as other related information) in a daily WEATHER JOURNAL.
  4. A driver might keep a journal of his various trips, the length of the trip, gasoline used and other pertinent information.

All of this is presented in order to introduce a recently-overhead conversation.

I’ll be washing my dishes or doing some other boring chore when a thought will POP into my head–and it’s always a thought which makes me ‘chase my tail’ or ‘go around in circles’ in some way.”

“Would you say that the thought is one which torments you in some way?”

“Yeah, that’s exactly right.”

Thinking about this conversation later, 2Corinthians 10:5 came to mind.  When talking to one of the two conversationalists later, the question was posed: “Why don’t you take those tormenting thoughts which pop into your head captive?”

“I don’t even know what means.”

It was explained that many of the thoughts man believes originates within himself are put into one’s mind by higher beings, particularly demonic entities.

MORE: Forming Thoughts and Taking Them Captive

Tracing the origin” of where thoughts started is the beginning of understanding WHICH thoughts have been placed into one’s mind and which thoughts have originated with the thinker himself.

And that is when the idea of a journal to record these “thoughts which suddenly pop into one’s head“–as well as those which torment and those which suggest criminal or self-destructive behaviors–as well as WHEN those thoughts occur and other information at the time.

By studying this record; this “mind journal;” one gets used to distinguishing between thoughts which originate with the thinker and those thoughts which “suddenly appeared from nowhere” (often when the thinker was not thinking any related thoughts).

This line of thinking may strike the reader as extraordinary.

UNTIL the reader begins, maintains and then studies such a journal and comes to his own conclusions about thoughts, their origin and formation and consequentially taking such thoughts captive.

“If you believe that your thoughts originate inside your brain, do you also believe that television shows are made inside your television set?”

Iniquity Abounds

explosion - threat

“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”
–Matthew 24:12

Iniquity will abound.

In the end times, iniquity WILL abound; i.e., “to be present in large numbers or in great quantity: to be prevalent.”

And the workers of iniquity will abound.

“And they worshipped the dragon [Satan] which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
–Revelation 13:4,8

And so, the explosive destructiveness of sin will abound largely due to the machinations of the workers of iniquity.

Iniquity will abound.

Because sin leads to death, most of the world will be on the broad way of destruction.

“Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”
–James 1:15

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat”
–Matthew 7:13

The workers of iniquity will progressively grow worse;  delighting in their evil works because they are deceived.

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”
–2TIMOTHY 3:13

And so, iniquity will abound.

HAS the reader noticed evil and wickedness growing?

DOES the reader then shrug his shoulders and tell himself that “everything will work out“?

Iniquity

workers of iniquity

WHAT IS INIQUITY?

The word “iniquity” is used in 262 different Bible verses.

With its presence through God’s Word, one would guess that most of those who inhabit the social clubs we call the churches would know the meaning of the word.

After all, iniquity is a key part of the Bible and what it teaches.

For centuries, the word iniquity was synonymous with “sin.”

And sin meant a “transgression” (against God).

Great or small, big sin or small sin: all sin was a transgression (or a sort of rebellion) against God.

The modern churches have remade iniquity to be synonymous with the word “lawless” or “lawlessness.”

Lawlessness” and “sin” are NOT the same thing.

Those who are lawless are sometimes ignorant of the law. In fact, THAYER’S GREEK LEXICON defines the Greek word used for lawlessness as:

  1. properly, the condition of one without law — either because ignorant of it, or because violating it.

This introduces quite a different situation than sin–an act or behavior which is a violation of God’s Law.

Which is the reason that many church folk have a completely different take on 2Thessalonians 2:7.

“For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

A great many moderns think of the “mystery of iniquity” as the “spirit” or “secret power” “of lawlessness.”

Which is something quite different than the “mystery of sin.”

Practically ALL of the corrupted new translations of the Bible use this lawlessness-for-sin swap.

And if modern man is confused about such a basic concept as “sin,” it is little wonder modern man is confused and deceived.

IS the reader now clear about what “iniquity” means?

OR does the reader still cling to the idea that “iniquity” means “lawlessness“?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
