The Great Tiger

Great Tiger

Once upon a time, there was a little boy who lived in a house by the woods with his parents and his brother.

Every night, after the little boy was ready for bed, but before he went to sleep, his father would read to the little boy from a big book by the name of The Great Tiger.

The Great Tiger was about a very powerful tiger.

Occasionally, the little boy would grow scared while listening to his father read The Great Tiger.

I’m frightened!

And his father would laugh and tell him “Do not be afraid; there is nothing to be frightened of.  There is no great tiger.  It is a story.  It is only a story.”

One day, as the boy was playing in the woods, he was suddenly and violently thrown to the ground.

To the little boy’s surprise, he found himself pinned to the ground by the paw of humongous tiger!

But you are not real!  You are only a story!” cried the little boy.

The Great Tiger licked his lips and bared his teeth.

“Didn’t your parents ever warn you about tigers?”

Again the little boy cried, “But you aren’t real!  You are only a story!”

The tiger seemed to smile a sad smile.

The little boy could now feel the breath of the tiger on his face.

“How unfortunate. You have been misinformed.”

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
