Recently a question was posed which provoked more than one response.
And, while all answers given may have been true, one answer was the best.
Paraphrased, the question went something on the order of “What is the best advice for both believers and non-believers in the end times?”
AT FIRST, it was supposed that “Throw yourself on the mercy of God” was the best answer.
“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
–Lamentations 3:22-23
BUT NEXT, it was thought “While the previous advice may be marvelous, it may not be enough. After all, those who do not fear the LORD have no reason to throw themselves on his mercy.”
SO, the answer then became “Fear the LORD.“
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
–Proverbs 1:7
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”
–Proverbs 9:10
FINALLY, it was decided that even “Fear the LORD” may be not be wide enough in its applications.
EVEN THOUGH “Fear the LORD” is part of God’s final warning to mankind at the very end.
“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.”
–Revelation 14:6-7
SO, a final answer was given.
“The Word of God is true. Study God’s Word.”
IF one truly understands God’s Word is true and studies it, one will undoubtedly come to the realization that he should both 1- fear the LORD and 2- throw himself on the mercy of the LORD because he will understand he is not strong enough to do what is required of him on his own.
Again, while all answers given may have been true, the last answer was the best.
DOES the reader believe this is good advice?
DOES the reader distrust ANY such advice?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
