Gospel of Jesus Christ: A Life-or-Death Choice

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

The gospel of Jesus Christ is so powerful precisely because it forces the person hearing it to make a choice.

  1. Believe the gospel and live; or,
  2. Reject it and die.

The life or death mentioned is eternal life or death; spiritual life or death.

This life-or-death choice of the gospel of Jesus Christ is the “power of God unto salvation.”

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

God has structured end times events in such a way that every person will have an opportunity to reject or confirm the gospel of Jesus Christ in some manner.

No one will be able to later claim they were condemned without a chance to repent and enter the kingdom of heaven–though many, many, many will still make that claim.

“Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.”
–Isaiah 5:13-14

Yes, many have been taught from an early age that the gospel of Jesus Christ is only a fairy tale.

But, many of those who have been taught this deception have also been taught to question everything they have been taught.

And, on a great many other topics, many DO find the wherewithal to research and decide for themselves contrary to what they have been taught from a young age.

The problem is: end times man does not feel that the gospel of Jesus Christ matters one way or another.

They do not approach the gospel as a life-or-death situation.

Tragic.

“But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”
John 20:31

DOES the reader wonder why all of the hubbub about the gospel of Jesus Christ?

DOES the reader believe that he believes the gospel if he believes in the existence of Jesus Christ?

PERHAPS the reader believes he has no need of the gospel?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
