Giving Thanks

First Thanksgiving

“There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD”
–Deuteronomy 18:10-12

One question pondered in the days leading up to Thanksgiving 2018:

“Who do witches, atheists, pagans and satanists give thanks to?”

After research, thought and prayer, a decision was arrived at:  that each group gives thanks to whomever that group believes supplies their needs and desires.

This was less than an earth-shaking discovery.

Though each group may insist otherwise, their public object of thanksgiving is many times different from that to which they show their thanks in private.

In many cases, thanks are given to various spirits and devils.

Witches and sorcerers thank their familiar (evil) spirits.  Though they deny his existence, others likely thank Satan.  Still others may make a show of thanking impersonal forces.

How to Hold a Gratitude Ritual

Satanists, of course, thank the father of lies.  In addition, some may also thank themselves.

Publicly the atheist thanks anyone but God: other men, other forces, other spirits, sorcery or religions (science, medicine, politics).

Privately, who can tell to whom each atheist gives thanks–or even if such foolish men give thanks at all?

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”
–Psalm 14:1

(One huge difference over the past 3000 years: while in David’s (the author of Psalm 14) time the the atheist kept such foolishness to himself, in the times in which we live, various fools are paid handsomely to air their foolishness in public.)

Godless Thanksgiving: Do Atheists Have Anyone to Thank?

Pagans, naturally give thanks to pagan gods (devils).

Pagans and Thanksgiving

But, in the end, giving thanks is giving thanks–regardless, it is showing that something greater than the giver-of-thanks has been responsible for past blessings.

NOW, make no mistake: very FEW actually KNOW who their benefactor is.

There is little use arguing the point: it will soon enough be made clear to all who dwell upon the earth.

Very MANY believe one thing or another, and then act accordingly.

Again, there is little use arguing the point: it will soon enough be made clear to all who dwell upon the earth.

The atheist.

The witch.

The pagan.

The satanist.

ALL these groups have one thing in common: open rebellion against God.

However, it is speculated ALL of these groups give at least as much thanks–in some cases, more–as do those folks who populate the apostate churches of the tares.

Thanksgiving Day is claimed to be a holiday commemorating the giving of thanks.

But is it?

Typically, Thanksgiving ends up being about 5 minutes of actual giving thanks, with the rest of the day devoted to family, food, football, fun and other things of the world.

Over the past 20 years, covetousness (shopping) and the fulfillment of coveting has made its way onto the list of Thanksgiving activities.

The end times are about the events leading up to the climax of human history (the return of Jesus Christ).

And for that, the few give thanks.

DOES the reader give thanks?

FOR WHAT does the reader give thanks?

TO WHOM does the reader give thanks?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?

DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
