PUMPING THE LORD’S IRON?
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
–Isaiah 40:31
Many trust in themselves because they are hardy and fit.
But what does God’s Word tell us about those who trust to themselves?
“He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.”
–Proverbs 28:26
“But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead”
–2CORINTHIANS 1:9
“There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
—Proverbs 16:25
Those who subject their bodies to regular physical workouts seem to overly trust themselves. This is natural: those who have a habit of regular physical workouts have long trusted in their physicality.
Otherwise, they would not work out.
Such men also have a long history of finding comfort in their routine.
Such men also have a long history of trusting the words of men instead of God’s Word.
Trusting in oneself and one’s abilities is the perfect attitude to have for the end times.
IF one is lost.
One of the hardest things for a Christian to learn is to trust God Almighty.
God’s Word tells the believer to trust in Him.
“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”
–Isaiah 43:2
Trusting God instead trusting oneself–even is one is in superb physical condition–is a lesson the believer HAS to learn for the end times IF he is to complete the path he has chosen to walk.
The believer is NOT to trust in guns.
The believer is NOT to trust in others.
The believer is certainly NOT to trust in himself.
Which is the reason that believers should not put their faith in physical workouts.
“For bodily exercise profiteth little”
–1TIMOTHY 4:8
The LORD will provide all that is needed for the diligent believer to complete his work. This includes whatever physical attributes are needed.
THAT is the LORD’s workout: trust in the Word of God and pump the iron of men no more.
THAT is pumping the LORD’s iron, so to speak.
“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”
–2CORINTHIANS 4:16
DOES the reader find comfort in his physical attributes?
DOES the reader look to his own physical assets to see him through tough times?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
