One word which has been much used in our times is “magic.”
“Magic” is a word which has been used and misused for centuries. It allows what is really happening to hide behind words, nonsense words, flourishes and slight of hand.
Therefore, because “magic” is a word which deceives, it is a very appropriate word for the end times, which are a time of great deception.
As befits such a deception, there are a great many stories told about “magic.”
Stories such as the many “types of magic,” each of which has its own stories, legends, lies and deceptions.
- Necromancy
- Blood magic
- Alchemy
- Folk magic
- Elemental magic
- Mysticism
- Technomagic
- Spell casting
- Hexes
- Black magic and the Dark Arts
- White magic
- Aether magic
- Voodoo
- Native magic
- Witchcraft
…as well as many other forms of “magic.”
Some maintain that science is “magic” and refer to the “blurring the lines” between the two.
Writer Arthur C. Clarke had a pair of quotes on the matter.
“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”
“Magic’s just science that we don’t understand yet.”
Be that as it may, ALL magic has one thing in common.
It is not magic.
It is not the casting of “spells.”
It is not a power the occult practitioner wields.
Magic is the doings of devils (demons), summoned by those who maintain they use “magic.”
Everything else is only a cover story to mask the true nature of what is going on. The practitioner petitions a devil (demon, familiar spirit), makes various sacrifices to the spirit and claims they have the “power of magic” when a deed is done.
Quite a lengthy article could be written on the subject of “magic,” the various and many deceptions behind those practices we call “magic” and where these deceptions are headed. Such a piece might also include

There IS NO magic.
There ARE displays of demonic power.
