“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
–Matthew 11:29-30
One of the biggest yarns the enemy tells is the one about how life is no longer worth living once one converts to Christianity.
Satan and his followers offer, as “proof,” the joyless, humorless lives of the many pretenders who occupy the churches and have become the pop culture representation of the Church of Jesus Christ.
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
–1JOHN 2:15-16
Now, many of these counterfeits have seemingly forsaken the things of the world–at least publicly. But because these tares have not experienced the transformed life and have not the Holy Spirit of God, the things of the world still hold great value to them.
One suspects these pretenders are largely a joyless lot precisely because they still believe the things of this world are valuable. The believer, having experienced the transformed life, KNOWS that the things of the world are trivial and fleeting. But because apostate tares cannot know this, they believe they are publicly forsaking things of great value.
Again, this might account for the public perception that those who occupy the churches are a largely joyless mob of browbeating prigs.
Because Satan has no ability to give joy to his followers, he (and his adherents) place a GREAT value on FUN.
“Fun” is heavily promoted as an equivalent to joy.
It is not.
Because “fun” is a thing of the world, it is something highly sought-after by the tares. All one has to do is listen to their conversations. “Fun” is quite the popular topic.
Because the tares pretend to be children of God, they have to PUBLICLY forgo pleasures of the flesh and other things of the world.
Because they still place worth on such things, they tend to be cranky when they do not receive them.
And this all contributes to the popular notion that when one becomes a Christian, one’s life comes to an end–at least in any meaningful way which the world understands.
“The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.”
–Proverbs 10:28
DOES the reader think about becoming a Christian LATER–because the reader wants to squeeze every drop from life that is worth living?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
