“When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. An organism that lives on or in another organism, deriving benefit from living on or in that other organism, while not contributing towards that other organism sufficiently to cover the cost to that other organism.
One aspect of parasitism is that the parasite “caus[es] [the host] some harm.”
This might be an accurate description of the relationship between a demon/devil/evil spirit/familiar spirit and its host.
The main differences between those who suffer with physical parasites and those who suffer with spiritual parasites is that those who are afflicted physically usually know they are afflicted.
Those who are afflicted spiritually are many times deceived beyond words.
Which is why most believe their affliction to be a great joy.
Which is why they lie to themselves and others about various unsettling events in their lives which are connected to their spiritual parasite.
Which is why most of the spiritually afflicted only congregate with those who agree with their “lifestyle choices.”
Like a smoker or a heavy habitual drinker–both of whom suffer similar afflictions–they will cling to their affliction even when they know “this is killing me.”
“Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
