Escaping Deception: Five Observations

“For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
–Titus 3:3-7

In the end times, deception hangs heavy, over both man and his environment.

Still, there are a few which escape the deception which clings to everyone.

BUT only a few take some sort of action.

Some of these few escape the deception which blankets the landscape.

1- “If one cannot see, that is a clue that perhaps one’s eyes are closed.”

Most who cannot see do not even suspect that they have their eyes closed.

Seeing without perceiving is a fairly commons problem and has been a problem for hundreds of years.

“And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.”
–Isaiah 6:9

Again, most who cannot see do not even suspect that they have their eyes closed.

A few do.

But even fewer act on this hunch.

2- A great many KNOW that something is wrong: they can “feel” it.

Most do not know exactly WHAT is wrong, but they know something isn’t right.

A few think about this uneasiness.

But even fewer act on this feeling.

3- Regardless of how many claim to “want to know the truth” or who claim to “seek the truth,” FEW actually place much value on the truth.

For most men, THEIR COMFORT is much more important than the truth.

One reason: “truth” is an abstract idea, while COMFORT is much more immediate.

COMFORT is part of every man’s here and now.

While abstract ideas SOUND good, a man’s comfort is part of his tangible everyday living.

4- If one finds that one is using the phrase “That doesn’t make any sense,” then what one is trying to make sense of is a LIE.

IF it was the truth, it would “make sense.

What one does with this information helps determine whether one will live comfortably while being deceived.

5- IF one discovers himself making excuses for why life doesn’t make sense, then one is already comfortable with deception.

Some may ask, “What is one to do?”

The answer is “Something that one has not done previously.”

Many claim to feel powerless in such situations.

This is because they see these situations as physical problems.  They like living in this present world and want to reconcile their uneasiness with this present world.

To “think outside the box,” the reader may start with reading and pondering 1CORINTHIANS 15:1-8.

Once more, though MANY know something is wrong, FEW will act on this uneasiness.

Those FEW are those who have a chance at escaping the widespread deception of the end times.

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
