“Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.”
–Mark 16:9-20
Satan and his workers of iniquity have long sought to discredit God’s Word.
Their attacks include raising up alternate, worldly alternative sources of authority (science, education) which relentlessly challenge and attack God’s Word.
Nowhere is this more clear than the attacks against Mark 16:9-20.
The world–especially those tares who pretend to be Christian scholars–have relentlessly attacked Mark 16:9-20 for roughly the last 200-250 years.
- Should the Longer Ending of Mark (Mark 16:9-20) be in the Bible?
- Is Mark 16:9-20 Inspired?
- Should Mark 16:9-20 be in the Bible?
- MARK 16:9–20–WHY IS THIS PASSAGE OF SCRIPTURE OMITTED IN SOME BIBLES?
Now, one might think, “These attacks have come hundreds of years AFTER the fact. Who would believe them?”
BUT that type of question does NOT give Satan (and his workers) their due: Satan is a VERY tricky fellow.
They trot out their arguments about the verses not being in the oldest or more reliable manuscripts.
They trot out their “Bible authorities” who use their esoteric means to determine what God’s Word REALLY says.
They trot out their arguments of “learned Bible scholars“–in short, they throw every trick in their arsenal at Mark 16:9-20, trying to discredit and discount these verses.
Yes, Mark 16:9-20 have been part of Scripture since the very beginning–regardless of what the Johnnie-come-lately satanic “Bible scholars” now insist.
What does Mark 16:9-20 contain that the workers of iniquity find it necessary to discredit them and try and tear these verses out of God’s Word–IF THEY COULD?
First, Mark 16:9-20 contains accounts of the appearance of Jesus after His resurrection. These accounts are verified elsewhere in the Bible.
Secondly, they contain the very clear command of Jesus to “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Yes, this is also contained in Matthew 28:19, but Satan’s two-part strategy has become clear over the past 15-20 years.
1- Discredit Mark 16:15.
2- THEN attack Mark 28:19, reminding any who will listen that this verse now stands by itself in Scripture.
Most importantly, Mark 16:9-20 (specifically Mark 16:17-18) ALSO contains some very specific promises to believers from Jesus Himself.
- In my name shall they cast out devils;
- they shall speak with new tongues;
- They shall take up serpents;
- if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;
- they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Satan’s ministers point to the churches and the lack of power among the church folk as “proof” these verses are not scriptural.
Instead of pointing to the lack of power in the church folk as proof of something altogether different.

The five promises of God contained in Mark 16:17-18 have been a target for the wolves in sheep’s clothing for the last 200-250 years.
It is little wonder.
All in all, the verses in Mark 16:9-20 –particularly Mark 16:17-18–are worthy targets for Satan’s attacks.
All the more reason for readers to put their trust in them.
DOES the reader believe the Bible?
What if modern sources of the world’s authority disagree with the Bible (often calling it a primitive, unlearned source): DOES the reader believe the Bible or modern science, medicine or education?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
