“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”

During a recent discussion concerning 666 (the mark of the beast), it was speculated that when the man of sin introduces the mark of the beast, it will be promoted to end times man as serving his convenience in some manner.
AND it was speculated that end times man will appreciate and value that offer of supposed amenity–even though that offered convenience will doom end times man to an eternity in hell.
NOW, God’s Word declares that any and ALL who receive the mark of the beast will end up in the lake of fire for eternity.
“And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”
–Revelation 14:9-11
So the question might reasonably be asked: “Why would end times man appreciate something (the mark of the beast) which will assuredly result in his spending eternity in a lake of fire?”
A reasonable answer might be “Because end times man will value convenience so highly.”
Why does end times man value his convenience so highly?
1- Because there are few things which end times man values above his own comfort. Convenience certainly contributes to a man’s comfort in many ways.
2- Because end times man places such a high value on his time: end times man values his own time over anyone else’s time. This is evident even today, when many place so much emphasis on their own time at the expense of others.
3- Because, even though he greatly appreciates money, end times man appreciates convenience even more. This is a fact which is not lost on retailers, who offer convenience in every facet of the retail experience–for a price. In fact, many retailers have discarded the “Time is money” motto. They have replaced it with “Money is here today, gone tomorrow; time is forever, therefore, time is more valuable than money.”
There have been a great many fables told in the churches about end times man being “forced” to take the mark of the beast.
Let the reader NOT be fooled.
There will be no “force” needed.
It is reasoned that the “If one wants to buy or sell, you must have the mark” will be the final offer of the beast–not his opening one.

Modern man will stand in line in order to receive the mark.

DOES the reader ever ponder what he will do when the mark of the beast is instituted?
OR does the reader assign that near-future problem to the “I’ll worry about it when it happens” pile?
OR does the reader assign all of this to the “I don’t believe any of that Bible stuff” pile?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
