What to Do When the Man of Sin is Revealed

Recently the question was posed, “What can I do once the man of sin is revealed? What can ANYONE do?”

Excellent question(s).

MORE: Two Sure Signs of the Last Days

God’s Word does not give any instructions which SPECIFICALLY cover the revelation of the man of sin.

BUT, the Bible DOES give other instructions which appear to apply to the times after the revelation of the man of sin–which is one of the two signs that Jesus Christ is ready to return and the gathering together of believers is about to take place.

“Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition”
–2THESSALONIANS 2:1-3

With all of this in mind, here are a few bits of biblical advice once the man of sin (the false prophet) is revealed to the world.

1- Remember the instructions God’s Word provides to those who want to overcome Satan and his beasts.

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
–Revelation 12:11

2- Anyone who endures any persecution or suffering for the name of Jesus Christ ceases to sin–and becomes a member of the kingdom of heaven. This is the ultimate display of “putting your money where your mouth is.”

It is also a very sure way to ensure that one is blessed for eternity instead of suffering forever and ever.

God rewards such brave testimony richly.

“Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.”
–1PETER 4:1-2

3- DO NOT under any circumstances RECEIVE THE MARK OF THE BEAST.

“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”
–Revelation 13:16-18

Whoever receives the mark suffers for all eternity. That much is crystal clear.

“And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”
–Revelation 14:9-11

4- Regardless of how many people (and how well you think you know those people) insist; regardless of how many from one’s church might claim to know; regardless of how many authorities follow after the man of sin (the false prophet): DO NOT FOLLOW THE MAN OF SIN.

It does not matter how “holy” and “righteous” and “religious” he may seem.

DO NOT FOLLOW AFTER THE MAN OF SIN.

It does not matter if the rest of the world follow him.

DO NOT FOLLOW AFTER THE MAN OF SIN.

It does not matter what government or media or celebrities or learned men or gurus or your best friend or the smartest guy you know says.

DO NOT FOLLOW AFTER THE MAN OF SIN.

5- Regardless of how many signs and wonders one sees at this time, God’s Word is clear: end times signs and wonders are from Satan and his pals. Do not be deceived. Do not be fooled.

“And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”
–2THESSALONIANS 2:8-10

“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast”
–Revelation 13:11-14

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
–Matthew 24:24

“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”
–Revelation 16:13-14,16

DOES the reader believe all of this is just “much ado about nothing“?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?
