The Conceit of the World

The world has MANY conceits.

One of the world’s most noticeable conceits (probably because the idea is so highly promoted by the world itself) is the one where the world (as well as any authority the world has raised up) pretends–sometimes even believes–that it is smarter, more intelligent and wiser than those who disagree and/or oppose it.

This conceit is dragged out practically every time the world is called on its many stories–many of which are simply too fantastic and/or nonsensical with which to agree IF one spends a few minutes taking the matter under consideration.

“You are doubting Stephen Hawking? Hawking was a genius!”

“We are a proud member of the reality-based community!”

“You’re questioning Albert Einstein? So you think you are smarter than Einstein? Who do you think you are?”

This is particularly true of the world’s intellectual pit bull: science.

Science is presented as some sort of all-knowing worldly authority on EVERYTHING, never mind that it is little more than an ancient, pagan religion which–having been cleaned up for public view–issues a never-ending stream of stories to explain why things are the way things are.

This is especially noticeable during science’s main thrust, which is to attack and attempt to discredit every facet of God’s Word. Science is presented as a sort of high intellectual construct, towering above all else, issuing its decrees while ever proposing more attacks via its many “theories.”

Meanwhile, any and all who disagree with the foolish and bizarre stories of science are characterized by the language of the world’s conceit: as “primitive,” “ignorant,” suffering from “mental health issues” or “superstitious.”

Increasingly, the world’s language of its conceit includes the words “religious” and “Christian“–though the two words have a COMPLETELY different meaning.

Jesus Christ proclaimed the difference between the wise man and the foolish one about 2000 years ago.

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

“And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”

Still, the world–and increasingly, those who live in the world–smugly believe they are the bee’s knees.

But, this exhibition of the world’s excessive opinion of its own intelligence was foretold long ago.

It all must happen before the return of Jesus Christ ushers in new management for the earth on which we live.

In the meantime, believers who know the truth must suffer the pinpricks of the deluded.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

The Wiles of the Devil

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
–Ephesians 6:11

During a recent discussion, someone asked, “What are the wiles of the devil?”

At the time, the answer was given, “The wiles of the devil are the deceptions Satan uses to TRICK and TRAP the unwary.”

Is there a better definition?

The wiles of the devil – Τας μεθοδειας του διαβολου· The methods of the devil; the different means, plans, schemes, and machinations which he uses to deceive, entrap, enslave, and ruin the souls of men. A man’s method of sinning is Satan’s method of ruining his soul.

It is appropriately rendered here as “wiles,” meaning cunning devices, arts, attempts to delude and destroy us. The wiles “of the devil” are the various arts and stratagems which he employs to drag souls down to perdition. We can more easily encounter open force than we can cunning; and we need the weapons of Christian armor to meet the attempts to draw us into a snare, as much as to meet open force. Such is the foe that we have to contend with–and almost all the Christian struggle is a warfare against stratagems and wiles. Satan does not openly appear. He approaches us not in repulsive forms, but comes to recommend some plausible doctrine, to lay before us some temptation that shall not immediately repel us. He presents the world in an alluring aspect; invites to pleasures that seem to be harmless; and leads us in indulgence, until we have gone so far that we cannot retreat.

Against the wiles of the devil: the devil useth arts and stratagems, as well as force and violence, and therefore, if any part of your spiritual armour be wanting, he will assault you where he finds you weakest.

The devil is a clever fellow.

He has MANY tricks and traps.

ONE of his best is lying: Satan is highly skilled at lying because he has done it so long and so successfully.

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. “
–John 8:44

The best liars 1- lie to one’s face; 2- lie boldly and brazenly; 3- do so convincingly; 4- mix in a bit of the truth here and there; and, 5- can remember their lies.

Satan is a HIGHLY skilled liar, for all of the above reasons–and MORE.

Sometimes, liars BELIEVE the lies they tell.

The best liars do not.

Any reader who believes they can “see through” the lies of Satan without the help of God’s Holy Spirit is already badly deceived.

Besides the fact that Satan has been lying for a LONG time AND that he is VERY accomplished at lying (After all, Satan persuaded a third of the angels to rebel against their Creator.), Satan is a higher order of being than a human: he is MUCH more intelligent, MUCH more skilled.

Which a good reason the Christian should put on the whole armor of God and be aware of the wiles of the devil.

Those without the Holy Spirit do not really stand a chance.

“Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”

The Mixed Messages From Church Signs

While driving to and fro throughout the land, one constant has always been the messages posted to the signs located outside of the network of churches scattered throughout America.

The messages were a decidedly mixed bag.

Many times, the messages were mildly amusing.

Occasionally, the messages were even clever.

Sometimes, the messages agreed with God’s Word.

At other times, not so much.

BUT, over the past three-five years, it has been noticed that the church messages have become less frequent.

For whatever reasons, a great many of these formerly-chatty marquees have traded in their rotating worldly wisdom. For whaever reasons, they have ceased offering their pithy bon mots.

Instead, many of the church signs have taken to offering strictly factual information, such as the time of local services or announcements during the summer of a future vacation Bible school.

Oh, there are the exceptions–and very, very, VERY seldom, there is a surprise as the message offered a message with biblical basis.

This was noticed recently when a rural church posted the following.

“When the sun had risen, The Son had risen!”

After spending a few hours inspecting samples of other church signs still offering advice, it was determined that this Sun-had-risen one was far and away the best.

Other contributions were

“Join us. Free admission!”

“Teens rule!”

“Seven days without prayer makes one weak”

And so, after searching the Internet, here are a number of messages from that increasingly disappearing medium: the previously-chatty church signs–along with a few observations.

Life has many choices. Eternity has two. What’s yours?

The best vitamin for a Christian is B1

More than a few equated prayer with PRAYER TO GOD ALMIGHTY.

This is not true.

It’s hard to stumble when you’re on your knees

But all prayers are not created equal.

A clear conscience makes a soft pillow – See 1TIMOTHY 4:1-2.

More than a few of the messages encouraged the viewer to READ the Bible.

Read the Bible, it’ll scare the hell out of you

Real eyes realize real lies, so read the Bible

Great minds like to think, so read the Bible

To be almost saved is to be totally lost – No such thing as “almost saved.”

A family altar will alter a family – Many a family has altars to pagan gods and familiar spirits in their homes.

Again, the church signs (both present and past) offered a VERY assorted bag of mixed messages.

Once Upon a Time When There Were Cars

It has been almost a year since we last published a “there-will-be-no-more-cars” piece.

IF the reader is surprised by this subject, then it is PAST TIME to update what has been said previously.

Here’s the latest from Satan’s Mouthpiece (the Corporate Media) on the topic.

Most readers do not realize that one heavily-promoted section of New York City has been a NO CAR ZONE for over 10 years.

Now, 10 years since cars were first banned from sections of Times Square, most consider the experiment an unmitigated success. And on Tuesday, Bloomberg-era officials joined the de Blasio administration and politicians at the “Crossroads of the World” to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the pedestrianizing of the space.

The reader may ask, “If the Corporate Media is not to be believed, then why refer to what they have written on the matter?”

Good question.

What Satan’s Mouthpiece has written may reflect what has already taken place (the elimination of the automobile from public life). However, the reasons given, the underlying situation and the decision-making process employed in order that the determination to eliminate cars will all certainly bent and the truth of the matter otherwise distorted.

At some point–judging from past actions–those in control will advance their idea as far as it can go using the tools they already have at their disposal. When those methods run out, then cars will be eliminated 1- quickly; 2- completely; and, 3- without warning.

Make no mistake: the reader will get no warning before it happens.

Most likely, there will be some “emergency” cited as the reason (probably having to do with the climate “crisis“).

Oh, and the reader will be PROMISED that cars will return in a year or two–just as soon as the claimed “emergency” passes.

Once more, the reader should NOT make the mistake in assuming that tomorrow will be like yesterday.

The Deception that Tomorrow Will Be Much Like Today and Yesterday

To confirm all of this, the Bible declares that at the great battle which takes place at Armageddon when Jesus Christ returns to earth, the armies of the world will be using horses, NOT mechanized vehicles.

“And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.”
–Revelation 16:16,19:17-18

DOES the reader realize that situations which existed yesterday may not exist tomorrow?

Satan’s Expiration Date

“Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”
–Revelation 12:12

Satan is a very clever fellow and a brilliant liar: three times in the gospel of John, Satan is called the “prince of this world.” He is also called the “prince of the power of the air.”

“Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.”
–John 12:31

“Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience”
–Ephesians 2:2

But be that as it may, what many do not know about the devil is that clever as he might be, Satan’s time as the chief enemy of mankind does not last forever.

In other words: Satan comes with an expiration date.

Many more know that Satan’s worldwide empire will only last 3 1/2 years–42 months, 1260 days–right before Jesus Christ returns to earth. This is most probably because it is repeatedly written in God’s Word.

” And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.”
Revelation 13:5

“But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.”
–Revelation 11:2-3

“Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river. And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half [3 1/2 years]; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.”
–Daniel 12:5-7

“And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time [3 1/2 years], from the face of the serpent.”
–Revelation 12:4

So, Satan and his followers will pretty much have free reign on the earth for 3 1/2 years (42 months, 1260 days).

[NOTE: Even though the Bible notes the 3 1/2 year time period repeatedly, the churches have spread the rumor that the time period of Satan is SEVEN YEARS. Anyone who studies the Word of God KNOWS it is NOT seven years. One question the false teachers and pulpit wolves cannot answer: “Why would God give Satan twice as long as He gave His Son, Jesus Christ?” This question so unsettled one group, for a while, they tried to show that Jesus Christ had a SEVEN year ministry while on earth.]

Satan’s earthly kingdom most certainly has an expiration date.

Just as Satan’s kingdom is strictly limited to a set time, so is the devil himself restricted.

Satan’s apostasy party is OVER upon the return of Jesus Christ.

First, the devil is sealed and locked away for a thousand years.

“And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.”
–Revelation 20:1-3

After a thousand years, Satan is loosed in order to tempt mankind for a short season.

“And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.”
–Revelation 20:7-9

FINALLY, after that little season, Satan’s expiration date REALLY comes due.

“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”
–Revelation 20:10

It will be a sad time for those who threw in their lot with the arch-liar and enemy of man, Satan. Those workers of iniquity ALSO will face an eternal judgment–something they believed they would avoid.

“As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
–Matthew 13:40-42

So, Satan has to do all he can to deceive as many men BEFORE he is cast into the lake of fire forever.

In other words, before Satan’s expiration date is finally comes due.

DOES the reader believe the devil is all-powerful?

DOES the reader follow (or know someone who follows) a leader whose time at the top will expire?

The Slings and Arrows of an Outrageous, Lost and Dying World

“To be, or not to be, that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer

Has the reader noticed how every one of the world’s false religions attacks the Word of God.

Why is this?

Why do so many spend so much time attacking a book the world claims it does not believe?

The number and type of attacks only varies with the one who’s doing the sighting in on the target.

One would think that false religions would spread their attention around to the false texts of other false religions; to the low-hanging fruit located in the camps of those other false religions.

But that is not the case.

Why is this?

Some might call it a “professional courtesy” among the workers of iniquity.

Anyway, the GREAT majority of the attention of the false religions is focused on the Bible: the Word of God.

Why does the reader suppose this is so?

The answer is in John 17:17.

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
–John 17:17

Why should the end times world be so interested in discrediting the Word of God?

Call it the “slings and arrows” of an outrageous, lost and dying world.

But especially: IF one does not know the problem, one can never find the solution.

And so, he who tosses the slings and arrows at God’s Word also has an interest in keeping man deceived while hiding and attacking the only source of truth.

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”
–Revelation 12:9

DOES the reader believe the Word of God?

OR does the reader “believe” the Bible–just as long as it is not contradicted by more modern knowledge; say, from science or the medical authorities?

ONLY those who do not know–and thus cannot speak with any authority–OR those who DO know–and are attempting to deceive–continue to deny the demonic power of witchcraft’s familiar spirits.

The textual truth of the biblical verses on witchcraft is not actually so clear. The original text in Exodus and a parallel text against witchcraft in Deuteronomy 18:9-10 may not actually refer to people who cast spells and curses but to those who engaged in preparing various herbal medicines. Whatever those texts actually mean, the biblical condemnations of witchcraft/herbalism come from an ancient pre-scientific time filled with ancient pre-scientific superstitions. I cannot defend how these texts were used to justify murder.

And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? Also, once the Holy Spirit of God has taken up residence in a believer, the believer sees the familiar spirit/demon–so integral to witchcraft–for the curse it really is.

BUT, there can be–and there are!–HUNDREDS (THOUSANDS?)of those who ARE witches and PRETEND to be Christians.
