“You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.”
–folk saying
A few points taken from a recent discussion about some visiting Jehovah’s Witnesses.
1- The Jehovah Witnesses are a cult which was designed to closely resemble Christianity, but is not. JW is a cult.
2- The reason JW closely resembles Christianity is to deceive the unsuspecting and unwary.

3- The Jehovah’s Witnesses do not believe Jesus is divine. The Jehovah’s Witnesses claim Jesus Christ was a man.
The Greatest Man who Ever Lived
In this regard, the JW is no different than arch deceiver, Billy Graham.
However, in order to confuse, they DO maintain that Jesus is the “son of God” because he was the first creation of God.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
–John 1:1
“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”
–Colossians 2:9
“I and my Father are one.”
–John 10:30
4- Primarily for this reason (their belief that Jesus is not God), the JW emphasize JEHOVAH, a name for God and would much prefer to talk about Jehovah than Jesus Christ.

4- The Jehovah Witnesses CONSIDER THEMSELVES to be Christians. This is NOT the same thing as actually BEING A CHRISTIAN. Besides regarding Jesus as a man (not God), they consider God’s Holy Spirit as a “force” instead of a person.
In this regard, they mimic some of the beliefs of witchcraft and pagans.
5- The JW believe that those who refuse to submit to God “after being resurrected” will simply cease to exist. The JW do not believe in a lake of fire or a fiery torment.
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
–Revelation 21:8
6- Because God’s Word contradicts so much of what the Jehovah’s Witnesses profess to believe, in 1961, the JW had published their own Bible (the New World Translation).
For instance, Bible verses which contradict Jehovah’s Witnesses’ beliefs are edited. Thus, John 1:1 becomes“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.”
This directly contradicts God’s Word, which clearly states there are no other gods.
“Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.”
–Isaiah 44:8
7- Because Jehovah’s Witnesses DO NOT believe Jesus Christ is God, (which is a basic part of Christianity), they ARE NOT Christians, but a very clever counterfeit.
As is their custom, the JW go door-to-door, attempting to recruit others to their faith.
In fact, those who do not know the Bible are prime targets for Jehovah Witness door-to-door proselytizing.
Many folks want to be seen as “good.” These are primary targets for JW.
A great many mention how friendly the usually-smiling and pleasant Jehovah Witnesses are.
EVERY Jehovah’s Witness this writer has met has been unfailingly cheerful and pleasant.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses may not believe the Bible, but they evidently believe the old folk saying, “You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.”

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
