Science and the Atheist

atheists

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.”
–Psalm 53:1

Recently, while thumbing through the pages of an atheist publication, this writer was struck by the large number of stories which revolved around the topic of “science.”

This observation was confirmed upon securing a computer and an online connection: the subject of “science” appeared to be the second-most popular topic (after attacks on Christianity/God/Jesus Christ, and the very occasional attack on Christianity’s competitors.  One suspects these latter, seldom-occurring  salvos were for the appearance of even-handedness.) among those who insist they are godless.

OR, at least among publications which cater to such men.

Does the reader wonder why this would be?

What interests do the atheist and the scientist share?

The aforementioned publication would most probably allege that the two share an interest in viewing the world “objectively;” without the confusing messiness of supernatural considerations interfering.

And while this might satisfy the converted or idly curious, it does not address the heart of the question, “Why does the atheist –with a wide selection of topics in the entire world–so often choose the specific topic of “science” about which to expound?”

Could it have anything to do with science being an ancient pagan religion?

IF SO, then science would seem to be an odd choice of topics for those who steadfastly maintain they disdain ALL religions.

Could the coupling of these odd companions (atheists and science) have anything to do with questions surrounding the whole notion of the atheist and his claimed aversion of all religions?

After all, atheists famously insist they are men who value knowledge and intellectual power above all other considerations.

Contrast this with the Bible’s repeated observations that it is the FOOL who says there is no God.

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.”
–Psalm 53:1

“The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity. His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.”
–Psalm 10:4,6-7

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.”
–Psalm 14:1

The very public image of the atheist is that they do not seem to be the type to hang out among fools.

Could there be something deeper going on here?

Why would the atheist–surely the chief public opponent of faith–be so interested in science, the stories of which require MORE faith to believe than any fifteen religions?

The atheist is most certainly an end times tool of the mystery of iniquity. Like so many other tools, could it be that the atheist is not as he publicly presents himself to be?

And again: why is the atheist so fascinated with the stories of science?

Let this piece serve as an introduction to these interesting questions–as well as the entire topic of the atheist–which will be completed at some time in the future.

HAS the reader ever put much thought into the entire IDEA of atheism?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
