Prepare for the End: Become a Believer!

believer

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
–1JOHN 2:15

There is a great sense of anticipation: that something BIG is “going to happen.”

Even the heathens know it.

Because of these strong feelings, many have desired to prepare themselves.

There are a great many ways to prepare for what is to soon come.

Many of those practices are advocated and promoted by the world.

As such, they will prove to be completely ineffective.

BUT many will follow after these recommendations from the world–and be totally UNPREPARED for what God’s Word tells us must happen.

These worldly bits of advice revolve mostly around PHYSICAL preparations; i.e., putting back stashes of gold, guns, and/or groceries AND learning “survival skills.”

MORE

One good way to tell that the endless physical preparations are NOT the way to go: no matter how much “prepping” one does; no matter how many physical items one has stocked up; no matter how often one updates one’s “survival skills”–the one making all of these physical preparations does NOT achieve peace of mind.

This stands in stark contrast to the peace which is given to the followers of Jesus Christ–a peace about which believers can testify.

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
–John 14:27

In addition, there is a comfort in knowing that one is on the same side as the most powerful being in the universe.

The most effective preparations for the end times involve becoming a believer and follower of Jesus Christ.

However, those who wait will most likely be disappointed: the eternal salvation of God is NOT a Plan B.

Once one becomes a believer, there are additional preparations one might make.

NONE of which involve the gathering together of the things of the world.

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”

Discerning Discernment

discern

to recognize or identify as separate and distinct :DISCRIMINATE  | to discern between right and wrong

The end times–being a time when deception is rampant–is surely a time when DISCERNMENT is needed.

It is VERY important for the reader to recognize, not only deception, but for the reader to be able to distinguish between right and wrong.  This especially applies to those issues on which the world is VERY sure that it is right–such as “assisted suicide” and abortion.

The world is very intent on confusing the public about right and wrong.

That the public often does not have the DISCERNMENT to tell the difference between right and wrong is one sign of the times in which we now live.

This is particularly true of the church folk.

Some may be offended at this revelation, but sadly, it is true.

Does the reader believe this assessment is too harsh?

The Bible is clear about the state of end times church folk.

What does the Bible say about those who inhabit the end times churches?

Grievous wolves, ravening wolves, wolves in sheep’s clothing, seducers, evil men, false prophets, false Christs, ungodly men, “men…speaking perverse things,” false teachers, “them which cause division and offences contrary to doctrine…by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple,” false apostles, deceitful workers, “ministers of Satan” who present themselves as “ministers of righteousness”: this is who the Bible warns will be in the churches.
End Times Churches: Broken Beyond Repair

MORE: What does the Bible say the End Times Churches will Look like

One of the reasons for the lack of discernment among the church folk is that a great many of those who congregate in the churches have relied on others to exercise discernment for them.

This has led to the rise of the modern “discernment ministry.”

Discernment ministries are there for one reason and one reason only: they lead those who desire to know more about Jesus Christ away from Him.  They provide a maze of rabbit trails for the potential Christian.

Rabbit trails go here, there, and everywhere, and pretty much tend to lead nowhere. (Have you ever watched a dog sniff out a rabbit trail? It wanders in small then wider circles, around and around, feverishly looking for the rabbit – literally, a meal and, figuratively, the point of one’s argument.) No one knows what’s at the end of a rabbit trail (the point of one’s argument). Is there even an end to it? It’s a confusing maze of pointless leads. In short, a rabbit trail leads (us) nowhere. It serves only to confuse the prey/the reader. It keeps them preoccupied and confused.

The above is a perfect description of the MO of”discernment ministries“–which are not to be found in the Bible and which began popping up in the early ’90s like mushrooms after a rain.
Discernment Inc: Servicing the Apostate Churches

Perhaps it is past time for those with an interest in God’s Word to apply themselves to studying it?

Perhaps it is past time for those with an interest in God’s Word to discern those who claim to discern for them?

It is never a good idea to put one’s future in the hands of men.

This is one of the primary problems with discernment ministries: they do NOT tell their readers what is written in the Bible.

They tell their readers what the DISCERNMENT MINISTER says is written in the Bible.  Not only that, but discernment ministries also tell their clients what they insist the Bible means.

Instead of man studying God’s Word, he listens to a discernment minister tell him what the Word of God instructs.

This is a recipe for an end times discernment disaster.

And so, that recipe has produced a church folk widely devoid of not only what is written in God’s Word, but also what God’s Word means.

” Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! {in their own sight.”
–Isaiah 5:20-21

The end times are a time of suffocating deception.

One key contribution to that deception are the many “discernment ministries.”

Perhaps it is time for the church folk to exercise some discernment–instead of relying on others to do it for them?

IS the reader “too busy” to study the Bible, but still wanting to know what the Bible says?

HAS the reader felt that discernment ministries are a great solution to this quandary?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

The High Drama of Counterfeit Christians

drama

IF one frequents the buildings called “the churches,” one has heard dozens, possibly HUNDREDS, of stories told by the church folk about when they were “born again.

“There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

“Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again”
–John 3:1-7

Because they have not experienced the spiritual rebirth, the tares CANNOT give an account of how that happened.

They CAN, however, provide details of how they IMAGINED such an occurrence came about.

From hearing all of the “born again” stories, the listener will have gathered a great many of these details–many of them repeated by more than one teller.

“It was the 2nd of November 1983 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon when I gave my heart to the Lord.”

“I’m on fire for the Lord! I’ve been on fire for the Lord ever since I was born again!”

“Let me tell you about my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I used to be a witch until Jesus saved this wretch one glorious day!”

Can the reader think of any reason these details may not be true?

AND there is PLENTY of drama, in the form of dramatic conversion stories.

The reader should beware of all dramatic conversion stories.

Weeping, crying, being overcome with emotion, grand tales of the Holy Spirit and God’s conviction, great bursts of energy: the Bible is silent on all of this attending someone who is reborn spiritually.

However, the heathen literature is full of similar stories when referring to having been “overcome by the divine” (becoming demon possessed).

MORE: Higher Power, the Divine and End Times Deception

Can the reader think of any reason dramatic conversion stories are so popular in the churches?

Jesus Christ told a parable about the tares (a sort of weed which looks very much like wheat).

“Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

“Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
–Matthew 13:24-30, 36-42

And so, many–not all, but a great many–of the end times tares have gathered in those buildings we call the “churches.”

The tares in the churches LOOK like Christians, but they are merely clever look-alikes: they talk the talk.

Some do not know any better: they are deceived.

Others DO know better: they are deceived AND deceiving.

ALL require the prayers of the believer if there is any hope they will be truly born again.

In the meantime, the reader not only should beware of the conversion stories told by the tares; the reader should be aware of ANY story told by the tares.

HAS the reader ever heard any dramatic stories about someone being born again?

WHAT did the reader think about such tales?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
