During a long search for something else completely, the following quote was unearthed.
“Behold the crucifix; what does it symbolize? Pallid incompetence hanging on a tree.”
—Anton LaVey, founder of the Church of Satan
This prompted several totally new searches–this time for those who believed that Jesus had been a failure.
““Well, if it is true that Jesus died and rose again, doesn’t that mean that evil has been conquered?…But there is still a lot of evil in this world,” emotion filled his voice, “And if there is all this evil around us, it seems to me that Jesus failed at his job.”
—Did Jesus Fail at His Job?
Some of these pronouncements were from, of course, exalted church folk, such as the pope.
The cross shows us a different way of measuring success. Ours is to plant the seeds. God sees to the fruits of our labors. And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and not produce fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.
—Read What Pope Francis Said at New York’s St. Patrick’s Cathedral
Of course the pope qualified his remarks by first referring to “humanly speaking.”
But what part of that declaration stuck in the reader’s mind: the boldly satanic “ended in failure, the failure of the cross” OR the qualifier?
Oddly enough, more of those connected with the churches have written more about the “failure of Jesus” than all of the satanists combined. While satanists use “Jesus failed” as a defiant call to arms, those who speak for the churches usually use the phrase as a come-on: using “Jesus failed” as an attention-getter before admitting–before the end of the article–that they were “only kidding.”
So, Jesus was unable to do many miracles, offended the congregation, and angered the people into a murderous riot. If that is not a failure, what is?
—The Failure of Jesus Christ (and why we need to fail to be like Him)
The slanders of the workers of iniquity seem to follow after the two main lies of the satanists.
1- Those who follow Jesus are “slaves.”
2- Jesus was a “failure.”
There are more, but these two appear to be the main ones at this point in time.
What is interesting is that
1- Those who follow Satan obviously have a thinly-veiled hatred of Jesus Christ.
2- Even though the satanic forces claim that Jesus was inconsequential and a “failure“, nearly 2000 years later, their entire existence–as well as their labor–is defined by their disdain and rebellion against that supposed “failure” of so many years ago: Jesus Christ.
It is little wonder that, in spite of all of their efforts to appear reasonable, satanists are an angry lot.
DOES the reader believe Jesus Christ was a “failure“?
DID the reader arrive at this conclusion on his own, or was he taught from an early age that Jesus was ineffective?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
