The Study of the Bible is Profitable for EVERYONE–Not Just Believers

One can find many answers to the perplexing problems of modern life in the Bible.

This is true whether the one searching for answers is a believer or a non-believer.

Of course, God’s Word yields more information to the believer, who has the spiritual key to the Word of God.

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
–1CORINTHIANS 2:14

Non-believers may find answers by diligent study of the Bible.

So many of the deceived look for answers by consulting the deceptive authorities of the world.

Reliable information about health, wealth, peace, protection, what is to come and other important aspects of life are sought where no good answers are to be found: the world and the authorities raised up by the world.

One popular definition of “insanity” is “Doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting a different result.”

IF this is true, then modern man MUST be insane.

Modern man consults the same hollow sources; looks to the same people whom he KNOWS lie to him; puts his faith in the same medical prescriptions and ineffective pablum (for years) which has failed him time and again.

IN FACT, modern medicine is now urging those who need help to ACCEPT and EMBRACE their afflictions.

So, when the unbeliever turns (most often in desperation) to God’s Word for answers, what can he expect?

1- The non-believer must STUDY the Bible, not merely read it.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
–2TIMOTHY 2:15

IF the non-believer is merely reading the Bible to see if he can find anything “interesting” in it, he will not likely find the answers he was looking for.

However, IF the non-believer will diligently study the Bible, he might be surprised at the answers it yield–including many answers he was not originally seeking.

2- IF the non-believer REALLY searches for the answers and REALLY, SINCERELY asks God for the answers, he will be rewarded with powerful information.

“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”
–Luke 11:9

However, IF the non-believer is only interested in locating information whichtickles his fancy, he will likely be disappointed.

3- IF the non-believer keeps searching–even AFTER he has located the answers to his initial questions–he will go further than he ever could have dared dream possible.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.”
–Proverbs 3:5-7

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
