It is extremely spacious under Satan’s bus.
It had better be because Satan relentlessly throws those who do his bidding (sometimes for months or years) under the bus,
Satan is the epitome of the fair-weather friend.
Regardless of what the devil may claim, God’s Word provides examples of Satan leaving those who do his bidding in the lurch.
1- Probably the most infamous example of Satan throwing someone who did his bidding under the bus is Judas Iscariot.
To make sure that Judas carried out Satan’s plans efficiently and effectively, Satan possessed Judas before the fateful betrayal of Jesus.
“Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover. And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him [Jesus]; for they feared the people. Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them. And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.”
–Luke 22:1-5
“When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake. Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake. He then lying on Jesus’ breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it? Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.”
–John 13:21-27
After Judas’ betrayal of Jesus, the devil was nowhere to be found to comfort the now-regretting apostle.
“And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.”
–Matthew 27:2-5
(The Bible does not say that Judas repented and turned to God: rather, it states Judas “repented himself,” most probably remembering the prediction Jesus had spoken earlier in the evening.)
“The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.”
–Matthew 26:24
When Judas killed himself, Satan was nowhere to be found. Judas had served Satan’s purpose: the devil had no further use of Judas.
So, Judas ended up under Satan’s bus.
2- The serpent (Satan) tempted Eve and caused the downfall of man.
“Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. “
–Genesis 3:1-6
After Eve’s actions led to God’s wrath–not just on Eve and her husband, but on EVERY person born afterwards–Satan moved on to his next patsy.
Eve, though she listened to Satan and brought about the fall of man, ended up under Satan’s bus as well.
“And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
–Genesis 3:9-19
3- This last example is NOT one where Satan threw one of his patsies under the bus. Still, in this example, Satan is shown to have had–from his very beginnings–the mindset to get all he can from someone and then move on to his next victim.
When Satan was still an angel named Lucifer, he was a favorite of his Creator, God.
“Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so…Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness”
–Ezekiel 28:14-15,17
Yet, despite being anointed, intelligent and beautiful, Lucifer harbored rebellion against his Creator and was cast out of heaven to earth, where he became the adversary of man: Satan.
God had blessed Satan with a multitude of gifts, but Satan rebelled against God, dragging a third of the angels to eventual perdition along with him.
Satan threw God under the bus.
Regardless of what the devil may claim, he HATES man–as evidenced by both his name (“devil” means adversary) AND his actions toward man.
Satan may claim to love man, but that’s just meant to deceive the unwary.
Kevin Lomax: “Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven”, is that it?
John Milton [Satan]: Why not? I’m here on the ground with my nose in it since the whole thing began. I’ve nurtured every sensation man’s been inspired to have. I cared about what he wanted and I never judged him. Why? Because I never rejected him. In spite of all his imperfections, I’m a fan of man! I’m a humanist. Maybe the last humanist.

Something the workers of iniquity might want to keep in mind when next they begin to feel comfortable about being so special.
Beware Satan’s bus–particularly UNDER said vehicle.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
