“Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.”
–Hebrews 3:12
The end times world is painted in the dull, unappetizing colors of unbelief.
BELIEF is vibrant with possibilities.
UNBELIEF proposes that this world is all there is. As this world is no great shakes, it is not surprising that unbelief is such a tedious state of affairs.
Perhaps this is one reason so many of the workers of iniquity appear to be so miserable and consumed with distracting themselves from their unbelief?
Some workers of inquity (who function as modern heralds of unbelief) work hard to promote this boring drudgery as “progress” or as a result of the “reality-based community.” Other workers of iniquity (the tares) present this monotonous palette as “faith-based” or “church and family values,” BUT they are tares and cannot partake of the vibrant life that is the believer’s.
“How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.”
–Jude 1:18
“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
–2PETER 3:3-4
Those who do not believe are often given to mocking and scoffing at those who do. After awhile, the negativity of this joyless activity paints those who indulge in it in lifeless gray colors.
These thoughts recently brought to mind a conversation which was overheard a few years ago.
An older man–obviously upset–discovered that an acquaintance had information he previously had not known about. The older man then demanded to know, “Who is behind all this?”
The older man’s acquaintance answered with a meandering reply which basically revealed nothing.
Again, the older man demanded, “Who is behind all of this?”
This time the acquaintance said nothing.
The older man then stormed out, grumbling under his breath.
Later, the acquaintance was asked why he did not give the older man the answer the older man had requested.
“Because the answer I should have given him was “Satan” and he would not have liked that answer. But more than that, he would have ridiculed the answer because he does not believe in Satan. And then, he would have repeated the story to other people. Those people would have not gotten the right answer: they would have not heard the right answer and listened to it being ridiculed.”
So the acquaintance did not want others to be subjected to the bad information from someone else’s unbelief.
The acquaintance was exerting a bit of influence to avoid promoting the dull colors of unbelief.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
