The Struggle Continues

The struggle against God and His love of His creation continues EVERY DAY.

“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)”
–Ephesians 2:4-5

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”

Yet, the deceived struggle against knowing ANYTHING which might disturb the deceptive cocoon which they have carefully built around themselves.

The deceived struggle against eternal salvation because they are deceived.

IF the deceived were not deceived, they would embrace rather than fight against the truth of God’s Word and eternal salvation through belief in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”

End times man is literally surrounded by an ocean of untruth.

Advertising is legalized lying.”

Advertising has been called “legalized lying“–-and end times man is buffeted by advertising practically every minute of the day.

“No amount of genius spent on the creation of propaganda will lead to success if a fundamental principle is not forever kept in mind. Propaganda must confine itself to very few points, and repeat them endlessly. Here, as with so many things in this world, persistence is the first and foremost condition of success.”

Propaganda is lying–and end times man constantly hears propaganda and other lies repeated over and over until he believes them.

“Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it.”

The actual world in which end times man dwells is quite a different place than the world end times man imagines the world in which he lives to be.

This is because the world, as end times man imagines it to be, is constructed of huge, monstrous lies.

In many cases, these lies were not put into place in one day: they were put into place over decades–often centuries–and supported by every facet of man’s society and culture.

And so, now man finds himself in the end times and almost EVERYTHING he knows, tastes, hears or sees is a lie.

But end times man is quite comfortable with living amongst these lies because end times man is deceived.

“And the great dragon…that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world”
–Revelation 12:9

This struggle between God and end times man–supported by Satan, the dragon’s workers and the evil spirits God has sent among men as their punishment (but which men mistakenly believe to be a reward)–will continue right up until the day Jesus Christ returns.

And so, the struggle continues.

For now.

“And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man”
–Genesis 6:3

Just Words

“FEAR” is just a vague idea UNLESS one is afflicted with that which makes the blood pound in one’s ears and the heart jackhammer so hard, at times it seems it will beat a hole through one’s chest.

“PEACE” is only a fuzzy concept UNLESS one has suffered from a lack of serenity.

“ETERNAL SALVATION” is only some bit of primitive mumbo jumbo UNLESS one has had one’s eyes opened to the bleakness of a future without it.

“INSOMNIA” is just a medical term UNLESS one has lost track of what day it is because the days and nights are NOT divided by slumber, while craving the elusive, soothing salve of sleep.

To any who have lived through such periods of extreme doubt, mental unrest and anxiety, these thoughts are only the beginning of an old, familiar discussion which could last for days.

To everyone else?

They are just words.

HAS the reader made any preparations for the last days?

OR, is all such talk “just words” and nothing else?

Cloudy and Overcast With a Chance of Armaggedon

WINTER is not just a time of colder weather: winter is also a time of less light and increased darkness; of overcast skies and cloudy days with less sunlight.

Several reminders of this occurred over the past several weeks. Right before evening, it was dark and overcast. The next morning, it was dark and overcast. Street lights remained lit and the headlights of many cars were on, though it was late morning.

This was one of the few occasions when one could not tell what time of day it was–or even make a guess–based on the way the sky looked.

This also served as a reminder that this is a preview of what it will likely look like on the day Jesus Christ returns.

“For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near, a cloudy day; it shall be the time of the heathen.”
–Ezekiel 30:3

“A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.”

“Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?”

Noticing the Noticeable

Occasionally, something which is obviously noticeable gets noticed.

And so it was recently, when a middle-aged man was noticed one morning walking–or rather walking and shuffling–down a city street.

The man was easy to notice.

The man–who sported a kept, gray beard–was pulling a handcart loaded down with six-packs of bottled water which had been secured with bungee cords to the cart. He was wearing a heavy, tan work jacket, no gloves and a beat-up baseball cap which could best be described as “distressed.”

Though this man was pulling his cart with one hand, his other hand was not idle. It was carrying a transparent, one-gallon, thick plastic, empty jug (the kind one might use to transport kerosene).

NONE of this would usually have attracted much more than a passing notice EXCEPT…

What WAS noticeable about the man: he was wearing fairly nice tennis shoes with the backs cut out of them.

This scene–when taken in as a whole–prompted several questions.

Where was the man going with all of that bottled water?

Where had the man come from?

Why were the backs cut out of his tennis shoes?

Was this a choice he had made OR was he forced by circumstances beyond his control to cut the backs out of his tennis shoes?

Were his feet swollen for some reason?

Did cutting the backs out of his shoes make them more comfortable?

Were his shoes–or some condition which had forced him to cut the backs out of his shoes–responsible for the slight catch in his step?

Was he an example of how man adapts to his circumstance?

ALL were questions which piqued the interest of the onlooker.

After the man had walked/shuffled around the corner and out of sight, the realization hit that these questions would likely remain unanswered forever.

EXCEPT for one particular question: Did the man want to be noticed?

That question WAS answered.

Whether he wanted to be or not, the man was noticeable–at least to one onlooker who was previously unfamiliar with him and his unusual footwear.

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
