A Question of the Time That Remains

clocks, time

While busy performing the regular chores and errands which are necessary, thoughts often intrude.

This past week, one of those thoughts intruded insistently.

The persistent intruder?

So many moderns show little hesitation in informing others that they “do not believe in all of that religious talk.”  This confession usually comes from a person AFTER some sort of discussion touching upon the churches or “going to church” or in what manner a person was brought up religiously.

This confession is ALMOST offered as a “badge of honor.” The confession demonstrating that the person making it is an “open-minded” person, willing to consider just about anything spiritually (or sometimes otherwise).

That so many offer a sort of disbelief/disdain of the religion traditions they were taught as a child was where the intruding thought began.

The intruding thought ended up with a question: “IF so many profess disbelief in the Bible and even their churches, why are so many of these same people so uneasy about the future?”

One of the most asked questions one receives concerns the amount of time the Bible says is left to end times man,

“How much time do you think is left?”

Often, the question is more direct

“What does the Bible say about how much time is left?”

This question is almost always asked without any sort of preamble.

This question is almost always asked REGARDLESS OF THE SUBJECT MATTER JUST DISCUSSED.

Oh, many times, what the future might hold might crop up in the conversation…

…but usually, it’s not immediately before this question is asked.

SO, the intruding question (“IF so many profess disbelief in the Bible and even their churches, why are so many of these same people so uneasy about the future?”) never did get fully answered.

Though there were plenty of thoughts associated with that question.

Perhaps the reader has some thoughts of his own on the topic?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

A Question of Priorities

priorities

Recently it was observed that the various governments in the United States do not seem to have enough money for the basic citizen services they used to provide, such as fixing the streets and removing the junk which continues to pile up in plain view.

But these same governments DO seem to find the $$$ for

  1. Tearing down buildings–particularly buildings which might be used in the near future to provide shelter from the elements.
  2. Constructing large fortified centers for those performing “public security” of some sort. such as policemen and firemen.

For the security upgrades, wads of money are found for that which protects the ones spending the money from the citizens they fail to protect.

One suspects that the primary question in all of this is NOT money.

One suspects that the primary question is one of priorities.

Has the reader noticed the retreat of citizen services?

OR, has the reader told himself, “It’s just a bad turn of events. It will get better.  It always does.”

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

A Question of Control

control

Of all the deceptions the workers of iniquity choose to participate in, probably the worst comes from their belief that they control familiar spirits and other evil spirits sent by God to hand out punishment in this life to the wicked.

This particular deception arises from several sources.

  • The workers of iniquity place their faith in the words of old men from the past.
  • The workers of iniquity may have been in contact with a spirit from an early age.
  • Because they are rebellious, the workers of iniquity place their faith in false SPIRITUAL AUTHORITIES which directly contradict God’s Word.
  • Much of the deception comes from the spirits themselves.  AS IF these higher order of beings are held in check and restrained by candles, circles drawn in the grass, salt, sparkling gems or crystals or incense or solemn words spoken in a commanding tone. These spirits are NOT restrained and controlled by such items–but it suits their purpose (especially to deceive the one who has been assured he is “protected“) to play along–just as it suits their purpose to let the human believe that he is “in control.

Because most workers of iniquity have had to toil for (in some cases) YEARS and, sometimes, have had to spend MUCH WEALTH to acquire “secret knowledge” which allows them to summon what is essentially their doom, they believe such spirits are a forbidden source of extrahuman power.

And there are some small displays of demonic power (which in the long run are totally inconsequential).

Because most workers of iniquity are arrogant and vain, they enjoy the feeling of having something most other men do not.

BUT, the sad fact is: the workers of iniquity cling to their judgment AS IF it was some great treasure which is their “right” since they worked so hard to obtain it.

Instead of a perfect judgment from the God they despise (which is unusual since most claim not to believe in Him).

“There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD”
–Deuteronomy 18:10-12

Poor, deceived souls!

As families are broken; as their health (and many times, the health of their family members) deteriorates; as their lives crumble and fall apart: the worker of iniquity fails to place the blame where it belongs.

Mostly, the blame falls squarely on themselves.

But ALSO on the same spirit they believe is such a benefit.

Because pride, vanity and arrogance are prime values of the wicked, they are trapped by their belief that they CONTROL their spirits.

Instead of being played as a sucker.

But, as already stated: the worker of iniquity is often deceived AND arrogant.

Regardless of how much proof he has, he STRONGLY DESIRES to believe that his association with a familiar spirit is a benefit, not a judgment.

Even if it means that everything around him that he formerly cared about withers and dies.

DOES the reader believe that being associated with a demon/evil spirit is a blessing?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
