End Times Faith: Trusting in God Instead of Man is a Frightening Prospect IF One Has Never Done It Before

In God we trust

“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”
–Psalm 118:8

MUCH has been written about choosing to trust God in the end times instead of one’s self or other men.

BUT a recent discussion highlighted how difficult it must be for the lost/wicked to trust God.

Since they have NEVER EVER trusted in God before.

Many of the lost have been taught from an early age that God is nothing more than a fairy tale believed by those of simple, primitive minds.

To trust their future to a “invisible man in the sky” does not even enter into their consideration. To trust their faith in the future to an entity with which they have not only NOT had any experience but whom they don’t even believe is real seems to be just foolishness to the lost/wicked.

And so, the foolish, the lost, the wicked, the evil men are left to depend upon

  1. THEMSELVES (this would explain the surge in “survivalism” or “prepping”). It would explain the tremendous demand for firearms and other weapons during times of uncertainty.  IF one has no faith in God and the promises of God, one has to look elsewhere.
  2. OTHER MEN (government, friends, various groups of people who appear to think like they do)
  3. FAMILIAR SPIRITS which will NOT provide protection–as hundreds of those throughout history who have relied on familiars have proven.
  4. OTHER GODS, which are not gods at all but devils (evil/familiar/unclean spirits sent as a judgment by God to those who worship false gods and other idols).

How frightening it must be to lack any experience of God’s protection and mercy!

But, because they have no experience–and just as importantly because they know of no one who has legitimately experienced God’s protection–they have no faith that God will provide for them and their families in times of chaos, terror and unrest.

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.”
–Psalm 34:19

The lost cannot believe this simple truth because the lost have not ever seen it in action. OR rather, the lost have never seen it in action and attributed their deliverance to God’s mercy.

Little wonder so many church folk invest so much faith in their guns.

How frightening it must be to turn one’s back on those things of the world which one can see, hear and touch!

There once was a man who was delivered BY GOD from an incredible string of troubles–AND this man KNEW that God had delivered him.

YET, that man remained a heathen for years after his initial deliverances–and others which took place afterward.

So, it is not hard to grasp that the lost have a hard time believing in the power of God’s deliverance.

And so, the great majority of pleas to trust in God, not man fall on deaf ears.

How sad.

But, it requires faith to trust God–and the lost/wicked/foolish do not have faith.

That is a primary reason they are presently lost/wicked/foolish.

How frightening it must be to only know “In God We Trust” as a slogan printed on U.S. money!

DOES the reader trust God, but still thinks it is a good idea to have a Plan B?

Just in case…

Just to be on the “safe side“…

Just because “you never can tell“?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

The Confusion Surrounding “Nice”

smiley - optimism

A remark heard the other day highlights the confusion surrounding those who are considered “nice.”

“I hate to be the one to tell her she’s wrong.  She’s so nice.  Someone else ought to have to tell her.”

Here was a woman

  1. who, apparently, was wrong.
  2. who was considered wrong in the eyes of the speaker.
  3. YET, there was a hesitancy on the part of the speaker to inform the woman of her error because “she’s so nice.”

MANY TIMES–particularly in the times in which we now live–those who smile and are “nice” believe they will lessen the number of confrontations with those who disagree with them…

…BECAUSE they are “nice“–and few want to confront a person who is pleasant and cheerful and “nice.”

Acting “nice” is often a STRATEGY.

It has been a successful strategy employed for years by those who control the buildings we call the churches.

Nice” has to do with a person’s outward personality or appearance or behavior.

nice

  1. polite, kind
  2. pleasing, agreeable
  3. socially acceptable : well-bred
  4. virtuous, respectable

Nice” has NOTHING to do with a person’s intentions.

“Nice” is also a judgment many make–but are not too sure they made the RIGHT call.

How many times has the reader been asked, “He (or she) seemed nice, didn’t he (or she)?”

A great many believe that a witch is mean.

BUT, a witch can be “nice“–and in many cases, IS.

But that doesn’t make what a witch does any less of an abomination in the eyes of God.

“There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD”
–Deuteronomy 18:10-12

Being “nice” is a strategy not only used by those who want to be liked, BUT ALSO by those who have other, darker motives and want to appear to be “NICE.”

Con men are almost universally described by their victims as “nice guys” or nice ladies.”

Using honey to snare the unsuspecting

Just something the reader may want to keep in mind.

HAS the reader ever heard someone say, “I’m too nice.”

WHY does the reader suppose that person said that?

DOES the reader often give the “benefit of the doubt” to someone who appears to be “nice“?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

One End Times Question the Lost Answer Incorrectly

questions

“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”
–Revelation 20:4

“And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”
–Revelation 5:10

Revelation 20:4 was touched upon during recent conversations.

The conversations revolved around the question, “It says in the Bible that those who give their lives for Jesus will live and reign with him for a thousand years.  Is it worth it to get your head cut off in exchange for living and reigning a thousand years with Jesus?”

A number of answers were some variation of “It doesn’t apply to me. I don’t believe all that stuff.”

But the most interesting answer had to do with a WHAT IF.

“Let’s assume that it’s all true.  Then, I would have to think about it.”

The answer is interesting because the underlying premise is that it is all true.

In that case, the question then becomes “What is there to think about?”

Sounds like a lack of imagination on the part of the one doing the answering.

STILL, there was NOT ONE PERSON who said, “Yeah, it would be worth it.  Sign me up.”

It says in the Bible that those who give their lives for Jesus will live and reign with him for a thousand years.  Is it worth it to get your head cut off in exchange for living and reigning a thousand years with Jesus?”

This is one question the lost answer incorrectly–most probably due to a lack of knowledge.

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
–Hosea 4:6

DOES the reader NOT “believe all that stuff” in the Bible?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
