A Few Questions for Those Who Believe This Life is An Illusion

illusion, magic

Recently, it was offered that this life is nothing more than an illusion.

“This car, these buildings–all of it!  It’s all just an illusion!”

As there was little response to this claim, it was repeated.

“Did you hear me?  I said that this car, everything you see, everything you touch: it’s all just an illusion!”

This time, a response was given.

“So this is all an illusion?  It’s not real?  Okay then, I have some questions.”

“Shoot.”

“If this life is nothing more than just an illusion, why is MY illusion the same as YOUR illusion?”

“Why, in your illusion, do you not have a car?”

“How can I measure something in my illusion and when you measure the same thing in your illusion, it’s the same size?”

“How come you had a stroke in your illusion?”

“And how and why do I see the repercussions of that stroke in my illusion?”

“Wouldn’t each person have an illusion that is extra good for him?  Why is everyone having the same illusion?”

The answer to all of those questions?

“I’ll have to think on that.”

The world has been offering its “Life (or Reality) is Simply an Illusion”  deception for years.

One of the most popular and widespread modern variation of “This life is only a dream” claim has to do with the 1999 movie, The Matrix and that movie’s claim that we are living in a computer-generated simulation.

MORE: The We-Are-Living-in-the-Matrix Scam

Why these ideas have not gotten much traction; why these claims seem to make more sense to end times man; and what is the entire reason behind this proposition will be the subject of another piece in the near future.

God willing.

DOES the reader ever entertain the thought this life is a “dream“?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

The Hammer Blows of Chaos in the End Times

hammered: hammer, anvil

“But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.”
–Luke 21:9

Modern man believes he lives in a world which is largely well-structured and orderly.

Modern man believes this structure and order comes from man having control over so much of modern life, whether it is the cars he drives, the food he eats or the gizmos and gadgets he daily manipulates.

This includes the remedies in which modern man has put his trust when things do not go as planned.

IF Appliance A breaks, call this repair person.

IF Appliance B breaks, call that repair person.

IF the car malfunctions, see the mechanic.

IF an event is canceled, follow this set of instructions.

IF someone is sick, call a doctor or take some “medicine.”

IF the computer or smartphone stop working, take it to this location.

And so on…

ALL of these carefully thought-out contingency plans are instituted to give modern man his “peace of mind“: that modern man has everything under control.

BUT, what happens to all of those plans AND to modern man’s carefully-orchestrated “peace of mind” in times of chaos?

In times of chaos, people who normally fix problems are many times unavailable OR cannot be contacted OR cannot obtain the parts necessary in order to correct a specific malfunction.

In times of chaos, locations which handled problems close down OR are not open to the public OR refuse to fix what they promised–in better and more orderly times–to fix.

In times of chaos, modern man finds out just how “foolproof” his devices AND plans AND contingencies are.

In times of chaos, even the survivalists and preppers discover “the best laid plans of mice and men…“–concocted during times of plenty and little stress–are often not worth the paper on which such lists and plans are so carefully written.

These problems are associated with the “normal” chaos of life: floods, earthquakes, bad storms, war, riots.

There is a time of recovery, rebuilding and life goes on–and, if one lives in America, not only does life go on, it gets better and better.

IN THE END TIMES, the chaos is much different than any previously experienced.

IN THE END TIMES, chaos is the rule.

IN THE END TIMES, chaos is, at first, mostly orchestrated by man in order to bring about certain changes.  Therefore, AT FIRST, the chaos eventually subsides and a new order rises to deal with any inconveniences caused by that necessary chaos.

But when it come to creating true and utter chaos, man is FAR BEHIND the God-Who-Controls-Everything.

IN THE END TIMES–particularly in the very last days of the end times–the chaos caused by God’s judgment on the earth and those who dwell upon the earth, once it begins will only end with the return of Jesus Christ.  This chaos will NOT subside until then; in the meantime, man will discover how ineffectual and small his plans for control really are.

IN THE END TIMES, the chaos caused by God’s judgment will fall like hammer blows, with NO time for recovery.  There will be no time to catch one’s breath.  There will be no time for a rest.  There will only be the relentless experiencing of God’s judgment and, for most, the realization that they should have paid more attention to “all of that Bible stuff.”

Most of the account of what happens during this judgment of God wrath may be found in Revelation 16.

IN THE END TIMES, all of those who put their faith in God will see that faith rewarded.

IN THE END TIMES, all of those who put their faith in man and the schemes of man?

Well, the best laid plans of mice and men…

DOES the reader feel that man pretty much has everything under control?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

A Few Stories of the Church Folk

telling a story

Like people everywhere, the church folk love a good story.

MORE: Modern Man Loves a Good Story

And there are a great many stories which circulate among the church folk–who appear to enjoy nothing more than to hear and to tell a good story about those who congregate in the buildings we call “the churches.

One of the most popular stories which circulate among the churches is the one about “The former witch who came to Christ and NOW is a god-fearing church lady.”

OR some variation of that story.

This story makes some sense as most churches are loaded with practicing witches.

One church–for a little while anyway–told the story about “The very powerful witch–who was the head of a local coven–who found the Lord and who is NOW coming to church to show his appreciation at being saved.”

(While the man did have a VERY POWERFUL spirit he consulted with, he showed up once or twice and then was never seen in that church again.)

IF the truth be known, the churches have ALWAYS been a popular place for witches to gather.

Where better?

MORE: Satan Has Counterfeited the Christian Church

And besides: witches enjoy a good story as much as the next person.

Another popular church story is the one about how “The church folk are just trying to make this a better world.”

Which is one reason the church folk busy themselves so with the giving out meals, operating clothes closets and other community projects.

What does the Bible have to say about working to make this present world a better place?

“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.”
–Isaiah 65:17

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”
–Revelation 21:1

“Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”
–2PETER 3:13

This world–and the CONDITION of the world–is very important to those who look to the world for answers.

One of the church stories which one seemingly hears NO MATTER WHICH CHURCH ONE ATTENDS is the one about the person who keeps claiming, “I’m on fire for the LORD!”

This person’s entire vocabulary seems to consist of him repeating, “I’m on fire for the LORD!”

At one church, a young man who wandered the church had his spiel down pat.

“I used to be into the occult but now I’m on fire for the LORD!  I left all of that behind and NOW I can’t stand it!  I’m on fire for the LORD!”

One day, when the discussion turned to tarot cards, the young man offered as how he might be able to find some his old ones around.

Later in the same day, he confirmed, “Yes, I found some of my old tarot cards.  Do you want me to bring them in?”

This naturally prompted the question, “What is one who is on fire for the LORD doing with tarot cards?“–but the question remained unspoken.

Like people everywhere, the church folk love a good story.

These are but three of the most common ones one hears in those churches.

HAS the reader heard any of these stories before?

NO ONE is Saved Without the Mercy of God

Mercy

“God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
–Psalm 53:2-3

There are NONE who DESERVE eternal salvation.

NONE.

Most of all, those FEW who have obtained eternal salvation KNOW this.

Those FEW understand that they did NOTHING to earn eternal salvation.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
–Ephesians 2:8-9

The few KNOW they are saved ONLY by the GREAT GRACE AND MERCY OF GOD.

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost”
–Titus 3:5

Those FEW who have been granted eternal salvation KNOW that NO MAN is saved without the GREAT GRACE and MERCY OF GOD.

Those FEW who have been blessed with eternal salvation KNOW that they have been given their blessing ENTIRELY due to God’s mercy and NOT by any righteous acts they think they have performed.

“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”
–Galatians 2:16

Those FEW who have been saved from eternal torment KNOW that ALL men deserve God’s judgment–even if God saves a few because of His great, unending mercy.

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
–Romans 3:10-12

ALL men are sinners.

NO man is a “good person.”

But FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST put those who are saved in line to experience the great mercy of God.

So: IF the reader has NOT experienced the new birth; the transformation; the regeneration which makes him a completely different person with a completely different outlook; AND that reader has genuine, sincere, true FAITH in Jesus Christ (not just the name of “Jesus” on his lips), the reader’s day will come.

AND it does not matter how bad/evil/wicked/foolish the reader has been to that point.

God’s great mercy triumphs over ALL.

Have faith and eternal salvation will be just around the corner!

DOES the reader believe that he will spend eternity in heaven if he a “good person” or he “tries to be a good person“?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
