PART ONE: A Few Questions for Those Who Believe This Life is An Illusion
PART TWO: Variations on the “This Life is An Illusion” Story
Recently, while listening to a song, it was noticed that part of the chorus was the line, “Nothing is real.”
Since modern pop music is probably one of the best propaganda delivery systems ever devised, it was decided to look into the song’s insistent claim that “Nothing is real.”
The information was a bit startling.
Enter “nothing is real” into one of the popular search engines and over 2 million results are returned.
Apparently, the world has been trying to convince man that “nothing is real” for some time now.
What follows are just a few of the MANY articles published over the past six or seven years.
- 7 Reasons Why Nothing Is Real And Your Life Is A Lie
- Worried? Don’t Be. Nothing Is Real.
- What if everything is an illusion, nothing is real?
- Nothing you see is real – This is supposedly a “modern Christian” view of the notion–and it is: modern Christian being another way to say “of the dragon.”
- What If Reality Isn’t Real?
- Are you a Boltzmann Brain? Why nothing in the Universe may be real
- Nothing Is Real- The Illusion Of Reality
“Nothing is Real” is just another way of saying “This is all an illusion.”
Both claims are not only wrong, they are deceptive.
IF ONE BELIEVES THIS, is it so hard to dismiss this entire life–and everything one has done (or NOT done)–as just an illusion?
IF ONE BELIEVES THIS, how can any of a person’s behaviours or actions have any meaning?
IF ONE BELIEVES THIS, how can there be any action or behaviour labelled “GOOD” or “BAD?”
IF ONE CLAIMS that “This is not real,” then how can ANYTHING matter?
How can anything “count“?
IF “nothing is real,” then who’s to say what has value and what does not?
IF ONE FALLS FOR THIS DECEPTION, how can anything done in this life have any consequences? After all, if everything is only an illusion, then everything we THINK are our actions are only illusions as well.
Ultimately, how can a just God judge someone for actions which were NOT actions, but only illusions?
“Lawyers are the devil’s ministry.”
–John Milton (Satan), The Devil’s Advocate (1997 film)
IF there was a Great-Courtroom-In-The-Sky, one can imagine Satan–the ultimate lawyer–arguing the defence
“It wasn’t my fault. Seriously, everyone knows it was only an illusion.”
Which brings up an interesting–though unanswered–question.
“Who is the author of all of those articles trying to convince: his readers or himself?”
[God willing, we will tackle the LAST part of this series this coming week.]

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
