God is NEVER Surprised

I can't believe it!

“Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure”
–Isaiah 46:10

When contemplating God Almighty, there are a GREAT number of things which the mere human mind has a hard time grasping.

A few of these hard-to-understand ideas have to do with God’s omnipresence: His being EVERYWHERE, AT EVERY TIME ALL OF THE TIME.

Humans are created FINITE creatures; i.e., with a beginning and an end; living within a system which imposes boundaries beyond which humans cannot go.

Humans are also created WITHOUT omnipresence: humans exist in one place ONLY all of the time.

From various conversations through the years, it seems as if grasping that God is present at EVERY TIME (past, present and future) is one of the hardest concepts for mere humans to understand.

In fact, there is NO past, present or future to a God who is present EVERYWHERE.

This is the reason God’s Word can be certain of declaring what is to happen: God exists in the future and has already seen what takes place.  God is not limited by the precepts of a dimension (time) which He created (largely for man).

Some men do not believe that which they cannot understand.  This is the primary reason so many workers of iniquity dismiss OUT OF HAND so many aspects of an all-powerful God: they do not believe what they do not understand.

So many workers of iniquity focus so intently on their work of the moment.  In this manner, they seek to avoid the uncomfortable truths they have acknowledged elsewhere in their lives.

“There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.”
–Proverbs 21:30

Back to God NEVER being surprised.

INCOMPLETE INFORMATION is a necessary requirement of an element of surprise.

Since God is omniscient–knowing ALL things; knowing EVERY THING–God does not EVER operate from incomplete information.

Therefore, an element of surprise is impossible.

Perhaps that is why there are no jokes in the Word of God: a good joke depends upon the element of surprise.

And that is why–regardless of what Satan may claim; regardless of what evil men may hope; regardless of what the workers of iniquity have hitched their wagons to: God is NEVER surprised.

“The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.”
–Psalm 2:2-4

“I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD”
–Proverbs 1:26-29

To paraphrase Numbers 23:19.

“God is not a man, that he should be surprised.”

IS the reader surprised that God is not?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
