“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you”
–Mark 13:3-5
MIsinformation goes by a number of more-descriptive names: lies, propaganda, fiction, fibs, advertising, announcements from the government or media; the list goes on.
In the end times, misinformation is passed along in a number of ways, by a number of different systems and processes.
Popular music, false religions, documentaries, stories told by parents or older relatives, movies: any method of delivering information to men can be misapplied to have it deceive men; to deliver lies and/or propaganda–and it does NOT matter if the person giving out the misinformation believes it or not: it is STILL misinformation.
Some methods of delivering misinformation are VERY POWERFUL, usually because 1- they emphasize repeating the misinformation over and over again; 2- they deliver the misinformation to a WILLING recipient who desires this misinformation for some reason; or 3- both.
A few of these POWERFUL misinformation delivery systems listed.
1- IF a modern man sits down to be amused or enjoy what he believes to be ENTERTAINMENT, then that man is a prime candidate for misinformation. One who believes himself to be entertained is one who has basically shut down his critical thinking and who accepts whatever he sees or hears.
IF one is watching a movie or TV show when this phenomenon occurs, it even has a name: suspension of disbelief.
Movies, popular music, TV shows, comedy sets–even crossword puzzles–are ALL employed to distribute misinformation.
“The American motion picture is the greatest unconscious carrier of propaganda in the world today. “
–Edward Bernays, Propaganda (1928)

2- IF a man has a strong desire to add to his knowledge of a particular field, then that man is a prime candidate for misinformation. One who believes himself to be learning valuable skills or knowledge has basically shut down his critical thinking and accepts–with an emphasis on MEMORIZING minute details–whatever he sees or hears from one who supposedly already has that knowledge or skill.
In this regard, educational systems are invaluable for passing along this type of propaganda, indoctrination and other misinformation.
BUT, educational systems are not the only ones utilizing this tactic.
YouTube videos, documentaries, how-to books and magazines, talks. lectures and other presentations designed to impart knowledge/skills–even the information featured on the back of cereal boxes–are also employed to spread misinfomation.

IF a man believes that he is being given useful knowledge or skills which he WANTS, he will soak up whatever is presented.
3- IF a man believes that knowledge is being distributed which will DIRECTLY benefit him in some way, he will basically shut down his critical thinking and apply himself to absorbing this info he believes to will give him some advantage.
Financial reports, government announcements, YouTube (or other) videos demonstrating “how to” perform assorted skills, various teachings from false religions, false teachers or false prophets and ANY media reports whose intention is to frighten the reader or to engender fear: all these and more fall into this particular category.

Massive misinformation is a sign of the end times. So is the digestion of such information and lies by the public, who are generally referred to as “the deceived.”
The reader does not have to ensnared.
Though most will be.
“And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.”
–Mark 13:37
DOES the reader believe that ALL who volunteer to “teach” him something is a benign and wonderful human being?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
