The Perfect Judge

judge

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.”
–John 16:7-11

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
–Hebrews 9:27

Regardless of whether one believes one will face a final judgment or not will NOT affect whether that skeptic stands in front of the Perfect Judge–who will then judge him perfectly.

Those skeptical about a final judgment can point to the agreement of other men on that point.

But it will make no difference how many agree that a final judgment will NOT happen: everyone WILL be judged (despite the world’s present strong distaste for being judged).

And the one doing the judging will be the Perfect Judge–which should come as a relief to all those who thought that day was only an imagination.

This should come as a relief because the Perfect Judge–unlike man–will not be affected by flowery words and excuses.

Also of importance: one’s station in this life will NOT matter to the Perfect Judge.

Whether one was important in life or rich or famous will NOT matter.

“It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.”
–Proverbs 24:23

And Jesus Christ–someone the world has spent the last 2000 years blaspheming–will render the final verdict on each soul.

“For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.”
–Romans 14:10

“Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”
–Acts 17:31

“In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.”
–Romans 2:16

“For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.”
–Romans 5:14-15

“For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then shall he render unto every man according to his deeds.”
–Matthew 16:27

What man would deny a Creator the right to judge His Creation?

What man would deny that One who creates something the right to judge His creation as He sees fit?

“Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why didst thou make me thus? Or hath not the potter a right over the clay, from the same lump to make one part a vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor? What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering vessels of wrath fitted unto destruction: and that he might make known the riches of his glory upon vessels of mercy, which he afore prepared unto glory, even us, whom he also called, not from the Jews only, but also from the Gentiles? As he saith also in Hosea, I will call that my people, which was not my people; And her beloved, that was not beloved.”
–Romans 9:20-25

And in that day when the Perfect Judge hands down his final decision on each and every soul–and all decisions ARE final–ALL who denied Jesus WILL be judged by Him.

The false teachers who insisted that those who did not know Jesus were really His will be judged as false teachers–and will be judged more harshly than they otherwise might have been.

“Be not many of you teachers, my brethren, knowing that we shall receive heavier judgment.”
James 3:1

And in that day, the Perfect Judge will judge perfectly in each and every case.

“And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne; and books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.”
–Revelation 20:12

“I, Jehovah, search the mind, I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.”
–Jeremiah 17:10

And in that day, a great many will protest that they have done many good deeds–and so should receive much credit for their good deeds.

BUT, what man, whose mother was murdered by a drifter and the drifter, being caught, is brought before a judge; and the judge hears the case and the drifter says, “Yeah, I killed her BUT I spent every Wednesday dressing up as a clown and entertaining children at the local hospital.”

What man, would think a judge competent IF the judge said, “You know, I understand you killed this man’s mother, BUT you have done so much good on Wednesdays that I’m going to let you off with a stiff warning this time.”?

NO man would respect a judge handing down such a poor judgment–and all those who stand in final judgment will at least NOT have to worry about being the victim of poor judgment.

Poor judgment by the Perfect Judge will be the least of their worries.

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

Wealth As An Affliction

gold bars

“A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.”
–Proverbs 13:22

“For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.”
–Ecclesiastes 2:26

Though the Bible warns REPEATEDLY of the dangers of a life misspent; of a life which focuses on wealth and the things of this world, wicked men do not believe the Bible.

Therefore, a great many men focus on acquiring the things of this world–beyond what they might possibly use for themselves–and then those men pass away to be judged and to NEVER need the wealth they spent their lives acquiring.

IN FACT, those who focus on acquiring wealth and the things of the world proclaim themselves to be wicked by their very actions.

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
–1JOHN 2:15-16

“Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.”
–Proverbs 23:4

Now, the reader should make NO mistake: God’s Word does NOT pronounce money itself as an evil.

Only the LOVE OF MONEY.

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
–1TIMOTHY 6:10

And the love of money and the things of the world which money can buy is the foundation of covetousness.

covet

to wish for earnestly

to feel inordinate desire for what belongs to another

And the Biblical warnings against covetousness are many and frequent.

“Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience”
Colossians 3:5-6

When one’s outlook is all about money and wealth, one is a child of disobedience. Being a child of disobedience ensures the wrath of God will fall upon the wayward child and is a CURSE.

So, focusing on accumulating wealth is not only a curse, it is a grave affliction–as anyone who is acquainted with someone who possesses much wealth KNOWS.

As Jesus Christ Himself advised

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
–Matthew 6:19-21

When one concentrates on piling up wealth, one is NOT concentrating on the things of heaven–AND one invites the wrath of God.  Affliction is a sign of that wrath and affliction dogs the steps of the wealthy in any number of ways–particularly those whose heart is on accumulating more wealth.

What follows are some of the afflictions suffered by those who concentrate on wealth.

The list is NOT all-inclusive, but it does give the reader a sense that money is not all that it’s cracked up to be.

1- IS it me or is it my money?

“Wealth maketh many friends”
–Proverbs 19:4

When one has serious cash, one does not truly know: are family and “friends” at your beck and call because they care about you–or your money?

Unless one has TOTALLY given into the deceptiveness which great wealth brings, one is always wondering, “Is it me or my money?

2 – AM I attractive or is my money?

Something that any with big bucks have to wonder: Is the opposite sex (or same sex) attracted to me–or are they attracted to what I have?

HOWEVER, as one stunningly pulchritudinous lady put it, “IF you marry for money, you’ll pay for it the rest of your life.  You have to do things you don’t want to do with someone you don’t really want to be with.  You have to be nice to them and smile at them.  What a bore and what a chore!”

And, unless one has TOTALLY given into the deceptiveness which great wealth brings, wondering about the motives of those who supposedly love you is an affliction.

3- A man focused on money finds it hard to focus on anything else.

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. [money]”
–Matthew 6:24

One cannot serve God and money.

But this is ALSO true of former hobbies, former past times, former LOVES?

IF one concentrates on wealth, one finds it hard to concentrate on those who are attracted to wealth–OR the things one used to find pleasant BEFORE becoming consumed by wealth.

Another common affliction.

4- AFTER a while, one realizes: whoever keeps your money, controls your money.

One may have MILLIONS of dollars credited to one’s account.

BUT, if one cannot (for whatever reason) gain access to that wealth, then one might as well be broke.

Perhaps this is why so many with money keep so much of it in (what is basically) non- or low-performing LIQUID ASSETS?

5- Once one has acquired a taste for wealth, one is cursed with that satisfying that taste–EVEN IF one really no longer desires the wealth.

How many old men–or increasingly, old women–have hoarded gazillions of dollars and YET STILL grope for more, more more?

The financial pages of the media are full of the stories of such people.

6- Increasingly, the person who has spent their lives accumulating wealth come to realize: you can’t take it with you.

“For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”
–1TIMOTHY 6:7

7- And because you can’t take it with you, someone else will spend (and enjoy) what you have spent your life heaping together.

Perhaps the single biggest affliction of those who spend their waking moments scheming to get MORE.

“This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty. Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay; He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.”
–Job 27:13,16-17

All of the above are afflictions which plague the wealthy–particularly those who are wealthy and who want to maintain their wealth.

There are other afflictions, but these make a good place to start a discussion.

What the afflictions of wealth can demonstrate–even to those who are afflicted–is that wealth is not everything it’s cracked up to be.

So many dream of life if they suddenly became very rich.  BUT, their dreams suppose that their lives would remain the same EXCEPT for having more money (to pay bills, to bestow on children, to buy stuff).

Their life, IF they suddenly became wealthy, would NOT be the same.

“The very rich are different from you and me.”
F. Scott Fitzgerald

DOES the reader daydream about winning the lottery OR some other way to become suddenly very wealthy?

DOES the reader imagine that the only thing that would change about his life would be having access to more money?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Naming a Peace Prize After the Father of High Explosives

Alfred Nobel

In 1867, Alfred Nobel invented dynamite, launching the young inventor into the heights of high explosives.

Having owned an armaments factory–and eventually becoming the owner of 90 more–as well as a string of inventions which included the blasting cap, dynamite and various forms of high explosives, Nobel (like so many others approaching death who amassed wealth and the things of the world) wanted the world to remember him fondly.

So, eight years before he shuffled off to his final reward, Alfred Nobel donated most of his fortune to fund the NOBEL PRIZE, a sort of award which ensured that the men of several generations would remember Nobel’s name in association with his prizes–instead of the countless deaths his other creations caused.

Nobel’s will established the funding for the Prizes in ChemistryLiteraturePeacePhysics, and Physiology or Medicine.

Other prizes associated with the process were later established (such as Economics), but these are not to be called Nobel Prizes.

The Nobel Prizes are the epitome of the world’s recognition of man.  As such, they further the aims of the world.  That the prizes somehow reward selfless research and development is one of the stories told by those who administer the prizes.

In reality, the Nobel Prizes further the various stories and deceptions used by the world to deceive modern man.

Forget for a moment the absurdity of naming a Peace Prize after the father of high explosives.  There are other ways the reader might determine the real purpose of the Nobel Prizes.

For example, in 2009, (after only serving as president of the USA for about 10 months), Barack Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.

According to Nobel’s will, the Peace Prize shall be awarded to the person who in the preceding year “shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses”.

In the year before he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, Barack Obama was a U.S. Senator from Illinois, perhaps best known for his grand total of sponsoring two bills which became law. Obama was also well-known for his many speeches, with the US press anointing each one as the “greatest speech ever given.”

Likewise, in 2016, singer Bob Dylan was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”  While some of Dylan’s songs were certainly hum-able, they were not considered–even by his most ardent admirers–as Great American Literature.

The Nobel Prizes are only one more end times deception: they are an attempt to shower the world’s acclaim on those who do the work of the world and who further the evil ends of the prince of this wicked world, Satan.

“Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.”
–John 12:31

For over 100 years, the wealth amassed by Alfred Nobel has bought the world’s acclaim and good thoughts.

The “world’s acclaim” has also been called “the pride of life.”

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
–1JOHN 2:15-16

And while some may wonder, “How many more years?“, it is suspected that Nobel’s wealth will fund his legacy at least until the climax of human history (the return of Jesus Christ).

In fact, the Nobel Prizes are one man’s attempt at Buying a Pleasant Memory of Himself.

Of course, that pleasant memory comes, not only with a very high price tag, but with a relatively short shelf life as well.

“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.”
–Isaiah 65:17

DOES the reader have a favorable opinion of the Nobel Prizes?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
