FEAR and PEACE

fear, peace

[It’s been over three  years since ETPR published something on PEACE (Peace and Safety) and nearly three years since one was released on FEAR (Fear of the LORD or Fear of Man: An End Times Choice).

So, it was decided to combine the two topics by serving up to the readers some reminders on both PEACE and FEAR.]

10 THOUGHTS ON PEACE AND FEAR

1- PEACE and FEAR are closely related, though many might not initially connect the two.  In many cases, the presence of FEAR signals a lack of peace and the presence of PEACE is a good indication of a lack of FEAR.

2- God’s Word makes a number of promises concerning PEACE and it also makes a number of promises concerning FEAR.

Many of the promises having to do with PEACE are made to believers.  One of the great benefits of becoming a believer is the great presence of PEACE which marks one’s entrance into the kingdom of heaven. This is a PEACE beyond all human understanding. One can be told about it, but until one actually experiences it, one cannot possibly understand what this peacefulness is about.

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
–Philippians 4:7

In fact, to one who has known mostly FEAR, the notion of exchanging that FEAR for PEACE seems a bit far-fetched.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
–2TIMOTHY 1:7

3- Of all the many afflictions promised to the workers of iniquity, FEAR is probably the most disquieting.  The worker of iniquity WILL be afflicted by FEAR and a lack of PEACE.

This is a promise straight from the mouth of God.

“There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.”
–Isaiah 48:22

“But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.”
–Isaiah 57:20-21

4- FEAR is only a word (as is also PEACE) UNLESS one is afflicted with FEAR.  Then, the afflicted is paralyzed with fright, terror and, in some cases, madness. It matters not to a person gripped with FEAR that he has much material possessions: the ownership of cars, homes, buildings and other wealth fade in importance (and are completely forgotten) if one is confronted by overwhelming, heart-pounding-in-one’s-chest FEAR.

TERROR is promised as the lot of the wicked.

On the other hand, PEACE (instead of FEAR and TERROR) are promised to believers.

“Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.”
–Psalm 91:5-6

5- Protection from harm is a prime component of PEACE; the lack of such protection is very much a large part of what makes up FEAR.

God’s Word warns that the “wages of sin is death.”

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
–Romans 6:23

But “death” is a wage which is not only payable upon one’s passing from this present life: sin has other rewards which are gathered and enjoyed in the world in which we now live.

One of the most prominent of these sinful rewards is FEAR.

“The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him”
–Proverbs 10:24

“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”
–1THESSALONIANS 5:3

“The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor. A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him. He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword. He wandereth abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand. Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.”
–Job 15:20-24

“And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you. And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.”
–Leviticus 26:17-18

Sin makes men cowards. Whatever difficulties the righteous meet in the way of duty, they are not daunted.
Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary

Fear is a torment which is the province of the wicked.

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”
–1JOHN 4:18

MORE:  Torment, Fear and Affliction

While the wicked may have riches in this present life–which many times prove difficult to hold onto–they also have other considerations: FEAR being chief among them.

There is ONLY one source of real protection: God.

AND, the believer is well aware of this.
Fear and Protection in the End Times

6- The great difference in result between the PEACE of the righteous and the FEAR of the wicked is contrasted nicely in Proverbs 28:1.

“The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.”

7- Jesus Christ Himself explained the GREAT PEACE that believers would find in Him.

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
–John 14:27

8- No matter how much money is spent on security measures and how much wealth is consumed by the wicked who desire PEACE, no PEACE will be had.

Only FEAR.

Think about this: with all of the increased security, pervasive surveillance and billions upon billions of government spending, is the nation any safer? Will there ever come a time when the government will announce, “We have enough ‘security‘ and the American public is now safe”?

Will “terrorist attacks” (or any outside threat) ever become LESS likely?

No, no and no…
Peace and Safety

9- PEACE is a natural part of the kingdom of God.  While the wicked chase after the temporary pleasures and things of the world, the righteous pursue those things which will last forever: righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

” For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”
–Romans 14:17

One of the most noticed changes about entering the kingdom of heaven is the great PEACE which envelopes the new believer, where before there was GREAT FEAR.

10- FEAR is one of the direct rewards of wickedness.  There are other consequences–which the wicked reap in this life–but FEAR is one of the consequences which loom large over a wicked person’s reality.

MORE: Modern Man and the Truth: Believing a Lie, Daily Torment and Affliction

Make no mistake: many suffer physical afflictions brought on by their wicked behaviors.

BUT many more suffer from mental or emotional torment which is also brought on by their wicked behavior–particularly fear, anxiety and other doubts.

Man can be tormented with fears regardless of how unlikely it is that those fears will be realized.

Because fear is a torment.
–from Torment, Fear and Affliction

DOES the reader ever wonder why the world attacks the Word of God so ferociously?

DOES the reader ever wonder how a book which the world considers so WRONG, has it so RIGHT–particularly about PEACE to the righteous and FEAR to the workers of iniquity?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

Cashless

CASHLESS credit card

“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.  Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”
–Revelation 13:16-18

Because

1- so many retail outlets in the USA have either quit accepting cash OR are preparing to cease taking cash; AND,

2- so many false teachers in the churches have identified the world going cashless with Revelation 13‘s mark of the beast; AND

3- so many media organizations have regularly published so much about the world’s cashless societies and how they are a cutting edge tool of the future–as well as the occasional reference to Revelation’s mark of the beast (in spite of the media’s regular ridicule of all things biblical),

it seemed VERY TIMELY to point out some extremely important points the reader might want to remember about the coming cashless-ness of the world.

WHAT THE BIBLE HAS TO SAY ABOUT IMPORTANT END TIMES TOPICS COVERED IN DECEPTION

  1. Something NEW!
  2. The Three Angels of Revelation
  3. Isaiah’s Covenant With Death is NOT a Peace Treaty

IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER ABOUT THE WORLD GOING CASHLESS AND THE MARK OF THE BEAST

1- There is NOTHING in God’s Word about a cashless society.

There is NOTHING about the world getting rid of cash.  There is NOTHING about the usage of cash and the end times mark of the beast.  The Bible is COMPLETELY silent about the way the end times world pays for its products or services.

2- Then how did so many come to associate the world ditching cash and the end times mark of the beast, which Revelation 13 clearly warns about?

About 50-60 years ago, many of the churches began teaching their members that one of the signs of the end times would be a “cashless society.”

The churches (and many false teachers associated with the churches) drilled this into the heads of their congregations–even though the Bible is TOTALLY and COMPLETELY silent on this matter. In 1970, the cashless bunch got a tremendous shot in the arm when the supposedly “Biblical prophecy” book,  The Late Great Planet Earthwas published.

The 242-page LGPE was a book of deceptions which sold over 28 million copies and which introduced many to what the Bible SUPPOSEDLY has to say about the end times.

The warnings contained in the book became the only source many consulted about the end times–and one of the warnings was a VERY BIG ONE about equating the “cashless society” with the Bible’s ‘mark of the beast.’

3- Why would the world and Satan want the public to equate the world getting rid of cash with the mark of the beast?

One big reason is that such a teaching distracts from what the Bible REALLY warns about concerning that end times event.

What God’s Word REALLY says about those events is that the end times man of sin (false prophet, false Messiah) will force the whole world to worship an idol.  Those who worship the idol receive a MARK in their foreheads or right hands (the mark of the beast) to notify the world of their end times worshiping habits.

All those who receive the mark can buy and sell goods.

All those who do NOT worship the idol do NOT receive the mark of the beast and can NOT buy or sell.

In addition, the man of sin puts to death all those who do not have the mark of the beast.  The false Messiah will LOOK like he is from God, but if one listens to what he says, he will SPEAK words from Satan (the dragon).

“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
–Revelation 13:11-18

“And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

4- ALL who worship the beast will be condemned by God for all eternity.

A great many false teachers and preachers from the churches have claimed that “No, you can take the mark of the beast and later repent and be saved!”

They say such things because they are false teachers.

“And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”
–Revelation 14:9-11

5- So, the mark of the beast is NOT about a cashless society: it is a sign of who one WORSHIPS.

IF  one worships either Jesus Christ or God, then one does NOT have the mark.

IF one DOES worship one of Satan’s beasts, then one will have the mark.

A LOT of people (being deceived by false teachers for YEARS), may think that if they avoid going cashless, they will avoid the mark of the beast–and therefore not be condemned for eternity to hellfire.

Going cashless is only a tool used by the world to control who buys and who sells.

6- So, all of the media chatter about the world “going cashless” is just so much deception and distraction.

The authorities will need to crack down on all types of purchases to shut off goods from those who do NOT receive the mark of the beast. Going cashless is merely one of the methods used to extend the world’s control over buying and selling.

The Corporate Media has NO interest in warning the public about what’s in store for them. So, the media’s MANY stories about a cashless world and the wonders of cashless-ness are just so many distractions and deceptions from a source of constant deception and distraction.

7- Perhaps the most useful bit of information about the world going cashless is that it SHOULD alert man to the times in which he is living.

5- Just because the Bible is silent about a cashless society does not mean it will not happen–as a deception to snare the unwary. In fact, given the amount of time, resources and effort expended into the false teaching of a cashless society (and the resultant computer/RFID chips, bar codes, tattoos and other marks), it is speculated that cash WILL disappear in the near future. It might be replaced by digital or other means of keeping one’s accounts current. HOWEVER, this does not mean that a cashless society (and its various tracking devices) is an equivalent of the mark of the beast.
END TIMES DECEPTIONS: Cashless Society Ruse Only One of Many Deceptions

IF the reader sees that cash is disappearing, then he may know that he is living in the last days.

So, if the reader sees signs of cash not being accepted, he should be alert for OTHER, less-deceptive signs which are contained in God’s Word.

However, living in the end times means that MOST MEN will NOT believe God’s Word; therefore, MOST MEN will NOT be alert to what happens.

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Scholars?

faceless

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
–2TIMOTHY 3:1-2,5

scholar:

aa person who has done advanced study in a special field
ba learned person

While researching some information about the Book of Exodus, one was struck by the very authoritative pronouncements made in the name of those faceless, worldly authorities known only as “scholars.”

The consensus among scholars is that the story in the Book of Exodus is best understood as a myth, and does not accurately describe historical events.

“Jewish and Christian tradition viewed Moses as the author of Exodus and the entire Torah, but by the end of the 19th century the increasing awareness of discrepancies, inconsistencies, repetitions and other features of the Pentateuch had led scholars to abandon this idea.”

The overwhelming consensus among scholars is that the story in the Book of Exodus is best understood as a myth and cannot be treated as history in any verifiable sense.

“Some scholars, associated with the interpretative school of Biblical minimalism,[20] show more skepticism towards ascribing any historicity to the Exodus,[21] with some arguing that the myth has its origins in the exilic and post-exilic Jewish communities and has little or no roots in a real historical event.”

Which leads one to a fairly obvious conclusion.

That group of faceless, worldly authorities who are referred to as “scholars“–-and who supposedly invest great amounts of study into  God’s Word–-are probably the ONLY group of such “scholars” whose apparent job is to discredit and cast doubt upon the object of their supposed study.

Promises, Promises

broken promises

While out and about this past week, a young man was noticed standing on a busy street corner, holding a large sign.

The sign–in LARGE LETTERS–asked “How can you escape the damnation of hell?”  Underneath the question was written, “Matthew 23:33

This made one sit up and take notice!

Was the young man–who looked to be bored, besides being a bit scruffy–offering a salvation message through God’s Word to a busy and largely-unbelieving world?

Because Matthew 23:33 was not in one’s memory, questions about the verse arose on the way home.

Was this a salvation message the young man was displaying to a busy world?

Was this only another deception made to look like a salvation message to deceive the world?

Which was it?

What did Matthew 23:33 have to say?

Upon arriving home and entering the house, a Bible was quickly sought out.

And what was it that Matthew 23:33 had to say?

“Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?”

Matthew 23 is largely Jesus telling the crowd–and his disciples–in Jerusalem about the the scribes and Pharisees; basically, the church leaders of Jesus’ day.

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!”

Verse 33 is merely one of the things Jesus asked those whom he called “hypocrites.”

The young man’s sign turned out to be something rarely seen in the end times: something which was in God’s Word and correctly passed along to any who might be interested.

But it was NOT a salvation message.

DID the reader know what Matthew 23:33 was about?

OR, did the reader–like most other moderns–ignore what was on that young man’s sign?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
