That Which is Known And What Is Unknown

The goodness of God–to those who fear God and do their very best to obey Him–is an attribute which is repeatedly referred to throughout God’s Word.

“O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
–Psalm 34:8

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
–Romans 8:28

“Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!”
–Psalm 31:19

And the goodness of the LORD is showered upon ALL of His creation in hundreds of ways.

“The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.”
–Psalm 145:9

One Bible passage in particular, points out the goodness of God to those who thumb their noses at him. As Jesus Christ pointed out:

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”
–Matthew 5:44-45

This was recently brought to mind by one believer who thought:

“God does so many things EVERY DAY to support and to ease the paths His servants must walk. But all of that is what is KNOWN by the believer and can be seen or experienced and proper thanks rendered to the Creator of All.  What of the DOZENS of things God does each day that are NOT KNOWN?  That are done and the believer may only, PERHAPS, have an inkling of?  What of all the things God performs to smooth the path of the believer OF WHICH HE IS NOT AWARE?”

How does one offer thanks for that about which he is unaware?

These are questions which, no doubt, do NOT trouble the tares, the unsaved, the workers of iniquity and all others who enjoy the benefits of God’s goodness and who attribute those benefits to their own hard work or some other fable which pleases their flesh.

So, God’s goodness is seen in hundreds of ways, to both the deceived and the undeceived.

The undeceived give thanks for those heaven-sent benefits.

The deceived congratulate themselves and others which they have had the good sense to associate.

The deceived do not see ANYTHING as the Hand of God.

The undeceived DAILY see the Hand of God–and then wonder about all that which they do NOT KNOW.

DOES the reader ever wonder about all of the things God does for him?

OR, does the reader believe he is too sophisticated for that kind of thinking?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
