God’s Word has a great deal of wisdom to pass along on the subject of discipline and correction.
HOWEVER, most of the Bible’s wisdom is POLITICALLY INCORRECT for the time in which we now live.
It does not matter how effective a practice might have demonstrated itself to be over CENTURIES. Once man has been taught that he now has a “better way” and that “better way” is advocated by all of the EXPERTS, PROFESSIONALS and LEARNED MEN, the days are numbered for the effective ways of the past.
And so it is with correcting a child.
The traditional (Biblical) point of view is basically “Spare the rod, spoil the child.” Correction is how a child (or any other person who is unfamiliar with behavioral norms) learns.
The MODERN view is basically “Correction–particularly PHYSICAL correction of ANY type–equals child abuse.”
This is another example of satanic indoctrination that good is bad and bad is good.
“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!”
–Isaiah 5:20-21
The following seven verses on the subject are from the Book of Proverbs (also called the Book of Wisdom). ALL of the Biblical procedures were used for CENTURIES.
NOT because they were Biblical, but because they worked.
BUT, man lives in a MUCH MORE ENLIGHTENED age, where “better ways” (which DO NOT work) are the norm because the world wants a rebellious mankind.
ALL who were lovingly corrected as a child will testify that “that’s how youngsters learn.”
PROMPT correction and sure consequences for undesired actions are the basis for everything from successful military units to successful sports teams to successful law enforcement to successful education of all types.
“He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.”
–Proverbs 13:24
“Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.”
–Proverbs 19:18
“Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.”
–Proverbs 22:15
“Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.”
–Proverbs 29:17
“Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
–Proverbs 23:13
“Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.”
–Proverbs 23:14
“The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.”
–Proverbs 29:15
These Biblical techniques are also a GREAT way to gauge how wrapped up a person has become in the world, the stories the world tells and the ways of the world.
One SURE method for starting an argument is to advocate methods which work to a person who is wrapped up in the stories the world tells about disciplining a child.
HOW does the reader feel about such techniques?
DOES the reader feel that proper discipline is “heartless“?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
