“And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.”
–Ecclesiastes 3:13
IF one only listened to the world, one might think that WORK is an affliction, visited upon those who are not bright enough to escape its mind-numbing clutches.,
IF one listened only to the world, one might think that man LIVES for that moment AFTER work is through–either for the day, the week or the year (and sometimes even until LUNCH).
Yet, many men–even those men with both feet planted squarely in the world–know that MEANINGFUL work is one of the true joys of life.
“No man needs sympathy because he has to work, because he has a burden to carry. Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.”
—Theodore Roosevelt
More than once, God’s Word emphasizes that work worth doing is not only a JOY for the worker, it is a gift from God.
“There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.”
–Ecclesiastes 2:24
He here teaches, that all the benefit of mere human labour is the moderate or sober enjoyment of what we have acquired by it.
–Dr. Wells, British Family Bible
The worldly have popularized the notion that heaven is a place where those who enter in fly around all day playing harps.
Nothing could be less true.
Heaven will be bliss BECAUSE each person will have work he enjoys doing–and that work will be considered important work.
Work: good, hard, enjoyable work is NOT an affliction.
It is a gift from God.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
