Free As a Bird?

free

“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
–2CORINTHIANS 3:17

Not so very long ago, a short conversation was entered into with an acquaintance about several topics; one of which was about how free modern man–and Americans, in particular–are.

What caused this particular short discussion to stick in one’s mind–DAYS AFTER it was concluded–was NOT the acquaintance’s contention that he was “free as a bird.”

No, what caused this particular short discussion to stick in one’s mind was the primary reason given for the acquaintance believing he was “free as a bird.” The reason given was NOT unusual: that particular claim had been heard before, in one form or another.

BUT, what made this particular short discussion stick in the mind was the UTTER ASSURANCE of the person claiming he was “free as a bird.”

The reason given?

“Of course I’m free! I can go anywhere I want whenever I want!”

The led to the logical question being asked of the acquaintance: “Oh yeah?  Where have you gone to, Mr. Free Bird?”

“We go to the beach EVERY year! We travel around to see the family whenever we decide to.  Besides, it’s not where I have gone!  It’s where I would go IF I wanted to!”

Later, upon further reflection, it was decided that one of the MAIN pillars supporting the Myth of Personal Freedom is this claim that “I can go wherever I want whenever I want.”

And Americans–as well others living in different parts of the world–do take short-term short hops when the occasion warrants.

BUT, to freely travel WHEREVER one wants WHENEVER one wants requires MONEY, which ultimately equates to the OPPORTUNITY to travel.

BUT ONE ALSO has to have the INCLINATION to travel–and so many (excepting the youth–who have not yet learned that they do not wish to go anywhere else) have convinced themselves they have no desire to go anywhere.

So, many Americans have convinced themselves they have nowhere they really WANT to go–and might not have the money to go IF there was anywhere they really wanted to go.

And many Americans–like so many others living in different parts of the world–are of modest means.

The world has a vested interest in making sure the slaves all think they are free.

If the slaves don’t realize they are slaves, they are far easier to control.

Which is one reason the Myth of Personal Freedom has been promoted so heavily.

Which is ALSO why the reasoning “I’m free because I can go wherever and whenever I please” has been encouraged.

But ANY travel plans usually start with a discussion about “where the money will come from.”

Which also means that those of modest means are limited to where and when they might travel about.

Which means that the “freedom” of so many is determined by their wallets.

Good thing most birds do not carry a wallet.

DOES the reader believe himself to be “free“?

WHY or WHY NOT?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

Satan’s Mouthpiece Vs The Bible: ONE SIGN MORE LISTEN TO THE WORLD THAN GOD’S WORD

sign

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”
–Romans 15:4

In the times in which we now live, the choice is made EVERY DAY: To whom should one listen to?

To what should the reader give the most weight when trying to decide what is best for the future of him or his family?

Not surprisingly, this choice is most stark in each person’s daily decisions on taking heed.  And that choice USUALLY boils down to who is one to believe: Satan’s Mouthpiece (the Corporate Media) OR the Word of God (the Bible)?

There is ONE sign that more NOW listen to the world than to God’s Word.

Can the reader guess what that sign might be?

The world and the world’s agents (the media, education, government, science, medicine, culture) promote fear, anger, hatred and doubt.

One of the main reasons for this is that scared people are easier to control.  A frightened man will allow almost anything in order to assuage his fears.  Someone will listen VERY INTENTLY to the instructions of those in charge if that someone is SCARED.

This is a BIG reason so many folks seem to have adopted “Better safe than sorry” as their personal motto.

God’s Word, on the other hand, is TOTALLY concerned with giving the reader the tools necessary to live a happy life, free of doubts and worry.

Many sinners will dispute this contention, having read the Bible–and because they wish to remain on their chosen path–will proclaim that they received no relief from their worries and doubts.

All which leads to this thought:

ONE SIGN OF MORE PEOPLE PAYING ATTENTION TO SATAN’S MOUTHPIECE THAN THE BIBLE is that folks are mostly fearful.  Fearful about the future, fearful about their finances, fearful about their own safety, fearful for the safety of their family, fearful of something they really can’t explain.

Most people buy what the media and world are selling: fear, doubt, anxiety, worry, anger and hatred.

And all the reader has to do is look around: are the people with which the reader comes into contact anxious and infected with a barely-concealed anger OR are those persons content and accepting of the things of this world, knowing that their future is not only better but also SECURE?

One NOTE which won’t make many feel any better in the days ahead.

It only gets worse until Jesus Christ returns–and if one is lost or wicked or evil, then things will ONLY get worse.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”
2TIMOTHY 3:16

IS the reader anxious for the future?

OR, does the reader believe that “Everything will turn out for the best.  It always has.”?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

ALL Men

ALL men

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men”
–1TIMOTHY 2:1

Over the past several weeks, it was pointed out that believers are exhorted to pray for ALL men. (Pray for ALL Men: A Reminder)

After the article posted, a question was posed which, upon further reflection, was a quite natural one to ask.

“When the Bible says ‘all men,’ does that include women too? Just making sure…”

Good question.

Generally, when God’s Word refers to “all men,” it is referring to what the world now calls “mankind;” i.e. men AND women.

Although Bible commentaries are NOT the end-all of thought on God’s Word, they can reflect what was the popular thought at the time they were published–or at least, the popular thoughts of them who wrote the commentaries.

There is but one God over all the human race, and all are alike his children, 1Ti 2:5.
Albert Barnes Note on the New Testament – Many of Barnes’ works were published in the 1830’s.

All MEN is referring to all of mankind.

In other words: all men and all women.

DOES the reader believe that there are great differences between man and woman?

OR, does the reader believe that man and woman are much alike?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

The ‘Saints’ of Man

cathedral

“Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.”
–Psalm 50:5

Say what one will, when Satan undertakes a deception, the devil most usually supplies his counterfeit articles with as many of the trappings of the real deal as he is able.

And so it is with Satan’s counterfeit churches (Satan Has Counterfeited the Christian Church).

For many years, man erected great monuments (called “cathedrals“) which were supposedly erected to show devotion to God, but which stirred pride (Pride is a Sin: A Friendly Reminder)  in the hearts of the congregation responsible.

Instead of holding services in one’s home–as the early Christians did–man began meeting on Sundays in his grand buildings, which he called ‘churches.’

Satan smiled approvingly.

God’s Word calls those who follow after God “saints.”

The saints from God’s Word are believers and God treats them accordingly.

“For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.”
–Psalm 37:28

The saints from God’s Word may be contrasted with those which man and man’s churches call “saints.”

The saints in God’s Word are said to FEAR God,

“God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.”
–Psalm 89:7

The men and women proclaimed by the churches to be ‘saints’ fear for themselves.

God’s saints serve God and His Son, Jesus Christ.

“If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.”
–John 12:26

Those proclaimed to be saints by man?

They mostly serve the counterfeit churches which honor them.

God’s Word declares that God LOVES His saints.

“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.”
–Psalm 116:15

God’s Word is completely SILENT on God’s feelings for the counterfeit saints.

Let the reader beware: the saints of the churches and the saints of God are two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT groups.

Nowhere will this difference be more apparent than in the last days, when those honored by the churches will appear to prosper while God’s saints are on the run and killed whenever they are caught.

“And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time [three and one-half years].”
–Daniel 7:25

As one popular local Bible teacher (who was a heathen) put it: “If there’s any Catholic saints in heaven, I’ll kiss your backside.”

HAS the reader ever closely examined the lives of all those proclaimed to be “saints” by the churches?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
