The World’s Idea of Safety and Protection

Hearing a song from the past recently made one think about what the world values most.

In the case of the song: what the world values most TO PROTECT ITSELF WHEN IN DANGER.

The song was “Jesus or a Gun,” which was released over 20 years ago. In it, the singer (who is obviously facing dangerous times) is asking (‘Who’s my saving one?’): which will offer him more protection: Jesus or a gun?

[As a side note, over 20 years after the song (which did quite well) came out, the Memory Hole Media wants the uninformed to believe that when the song was popular, the word “gun” was not spoken and was edited out of the song.  As anyone who listened to song at the time (which was played on the radio HUNDREDS, if not THOUSAND of times) can attest, this is new information.  NEVER ONCE had many listeners EVER heard the song played on the radio (or in concert) with  “gun”  edited out.  However, in 2020, 20+ years after the fact, this is the urban legend which the memory hole folks would have the uninformed believe.  Apparently, the Memory Hole folks would have the uninformed believe that in 1999, the country had such fine-tuned sensibilities about such things that Americans could only stomach the song IF it was titled “Jesus or a…”  This is a complete fiction.]

So, the question the song asks: “Who is it better to depend on: Jesus or a gun?”

Of course, to the world–which has no experience with Jesus or His Father–this is a rhetorical question.

Those who are firmly focused on THIS life in THIS world believe it would be silly to turn down a gun if offered for one’s protection. (Even the strictest gun control advocates are physically protected by police, who carry guns.)

However, the world is not only deceived, it operates from incomplete information.

Because almost the whole world is lost, the world has no contact with supernatural sources of information (except for those who access familiar spirits–which are anxious to deceive those who access them).  I

F the world had access to such information (which, being lost, they are denied), their views on this world, God, Jesus and a host of other topics would DRASTICALLY change.

[Because popular music is an almost-perfect propaganda delivery system (modern music being repeated constantly, day after day: which is the most important point in ANY propaganda; how often it is repeated), it’s hard to tally how many–who listene to its untold number of repetitions–were affected by the thoughts in “Jesus or a Gun.”]

The song offers the world’s idea of safety and protection: a gun.

This is confirmed by how many survivalists put their faith in guns to deliver them from any unforeseen circumstances–including, it would seem, the calamities of the last days.

So, the song ultimately treats the question as rhetorical, with the singer claiming “It’s safe to say I don’t desire
Everything you push inside my head And I’ll reject it until I’m dead.”)

Apparently, he only wants the security offered by cold steel and bullets.  In his mind, ANY suggestion that Jesus might offer as much or more protection is just silly and not worthy of consideration (“I’ll reject it until I’m dead.”).

(However, one gets the feeling that the singer would reject Jesus REGARDLESS of the level of protection He afforded.)

It would prove interesting to ask ALL who take such a view–which is practically EVERYONE who dwells on the earth–one question.

“How many are documented dying with Jesus on their lips compared to how many are documented to have died with a gun in their hands?”

Seems like a simple choice.

SOME folks just feel better if there is a gun around somewhere they can access if needed.

OTHER folks get nervous around guns.

WHICH is the reader?

WHO does the reader trust more to deliver in times of disasters?

WHERE does the reader place his trust for a safe future: Jesus or a gun?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
