“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”
On more than one occasion, God’s Word assures the reader that the LORD is STRONG TOWER to which believers may run to in times of trouble and be safe.
Which ought to bring comfort to all of those who are concerned about the calamities and commotions promised for the end times by God’s Word
“And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. “
HOWEVER, if the one who requires safety and protection in times of danger rejects that safety–for WHATEVER reason(s)–then he is no better off than the one who is marked for destruction.
Like so many other behaviors which carry consequences, the reason behind the rejection of safety is not all that important.
“My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. “
Perhaps the one who rejects safety has been erroneously informed during his youth.
Perhaps he was taught from an early age that belief in the LORD is one sign of an unsound, primitive mind in need of a crutch?
Perhaps the one rejecting protection and safety during times of chaos and turmoil had legends of disbelief passed along AS IF they were true?
Perhaps those who dismiss the safety of the strong tower of the LORD believe that those who place their faith in God and His Son, Jesus Christ, are WEAK-MINDED?
Perhaps the one who spurns a safe haven has been otherwise misinformed during his lifetime.
Perhaps the one refusing safety believes he is better off trusting to his own resources.
“Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.”
It matters not how strong a nearby tower may be, IF one MAKES THE CHOICE to avoid running to it during times of danger.
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.”
WHAT does the reader think of the promises of protection offered in God’s Word?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
