“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD. And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.“
–Job 1:6-7.2:1-2
Whenever Satan faces off against God or His Son, Jesus Christ(which doesn’t happen all that often: it is much more common for Satan to square off against MAN, who is not Satan’s equal in most respects.), Satan almost always enjoys the advantage of playing AT HOME, so to speak.
Besides the fact that Satan has spent a GREAT AMOUNT of time becoming acquainted with man (and man’s weaknesses), the devil has also spent considerable time making himself familiar with man’s home: earth.
As the Book of Job makes clear.
MORE: Satan is a Walker
So, at first glance, it may appear that the devil enjoys ‘home field advantage’ in any confrontations on earth-–and wars and many a battle have been won because one side was well-acquainted with the terrain on which the engagement was fought.
Does this mean Satan enjoys a “home field advantage” whenever he confronts the LORD on earth?
No, not really.
The reader should be reminded that looks can be deceiving–and even though Satan is an arch-deceiver, the devil has little to do with the appearances in this case.
Even though SATAN is VERY familiar with earth, it was God who CREATED it.
Therefore, no matter how much time is spent familiarizing oneself with the terrain, none can match the familiarity the earth hold for its Creator, who is VERY familiar with every nook and cranny and crevice.
In addition, even though SATAN is a highly competent liar and deceiver, NO deceiver/liar–no matter how accomplished–is a match for God, who can not only touch man with the truth, but can CHANGE the HEARTS of men.
So, even though Satan has the (well-deserved) reputation as ‘dangerous’ (particularly to the unwary man), he is NO MATCH for his Creator–though Satan labors mightily to deceive the foolish on this point.
Even though Satan is the prince of this world, God is the CREATOR of this world.
“Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.”
–John 12:31
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
–Genesis 1:1
Though the devil may be far more clever than the average man–and NEVER stops scheming–he will NEVER be a match for his CREATOR: God.
Regardless of where that confrontation may take place.
Therefore, Satan enjoys NO ‘home field advantage’ over God.
DOES the reader believe that Satan is a very powerful opponent?
DOES the reader believe that Satan is a match for his Creator?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
