Controlling What is Known

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you”
–Mark 13:3-5

Satan is a VERY tricky fellow.

And Satan and his worker drones have been laboring at deception, lying and the like, pulling the wool over the eyes of man for a LONG time.

In addition, NEVER let it be said that Satan doesn’t learn from his mistakes.

He does (mostly).

And so, Satan is PARTICULARLY deceptive NOW, during the end times.

ONE important thing Satan has learned over the centuries: to control man and what man believes, it is necessary to control what man knows; i.e., man’s sources of information.

Which is a BIG reason Satan controls practically ALL of the sources of information in the world in which we live.

Satan controls the information which springs from:

  • The ‘news’
  • Science!
  • Medicine
  • The network of buildings we call ‘the churches’
  • Education
  • Entertainment
  • Publishing and broadcasting
  • Culture
  • Professional sports (including ‘amateur’ sports which are professional in nature)
  • Various past times and amusements
  • Fashion
  • The arts
  • And practically EVERY other field of endeavor in which man participates.

To gain control over these sources of information has taken the prince of this world–and his followers–CENTURIES (in some cases) and an untold amount of resources and money.

So why is it SO important for Satan’s lies to receive constant promotion in man’s world?

There’s a few reasons.

1- Control of information today means control of the world tomorrow.

“Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.”

2- Those who control information control what the people who use that information THINK and BELIEVE. Those who control the world’s information control what is known by most men in the world.

3- Control of more than one source of information allows for the reinforcement of lies to the point where they are generally believed to be facts.

For example, IF science tells a lie, government and media will rush to reinforce that lie against any who have doubts.

4- Repeating a lie is one of the surest way to get fallible (and gullible) man to believe it.

ALL propaganda is based on REPETITION.

And it is quite hard to achieve constant repetition of a lie unless one has control over the sources of information.

5- Control of information is control of the lives of ALL those who use that information.

If the information concerning a problem is wrong, then it will be impossible to arrive at a solution to that problem.

IF One Does Not Know the Problem, One Can Never Find a Solution

6- Most men in the world ONLY know what they have been told: by a teacher, by a preacher, by a talking head on TV.

So, IF those men are told only LIES and false STORIES, they will only know LIES and false STORIES.  And the decisions made by such men will be FLAWED decisions, as these men do NOT have the correct information on which to base their decisions.

This includes the many poor, deceived folks laboring for Satan and his causes.

The reader might think on all of this the NEXT time he is tempted to send a “news” clipping or video to a friend or associate.

OR, the reader might just do as MOST now do: just open wide and swallow–and then ask for “MORE!”

7- Those who desire to control others will find control of information goes hand-in-hand with control of mankind.

Men will become slaves WILLINGLY if they are first deceived.

And to deceive, one must have control of deceptive information.

Was it mentioned that Satan is a VERY tricky fellow?

DOES the reader believe he is told the truth about EVERYTHING?

HAS the reader ever wondered why then, he turns to those he KNOWS lie to him for more information–particularly in times of unrest and chaos?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?

Is One’s Path Through Life Supposed to Be Without Bumps?

Last week, the observation that God had declared He will make smooth the path of the believer, was explored in several offerings.

Which led an occasional reader to later pose a VERY interesting question:

“Is the road I walk in this life SUPPOSED to be smooth?  I don’t know…that’s why I’m asking.”

Upon later reflection, it was decided the answer given at the time was most probably inadequate.

That answer consisted of TWO parts: Psalm 91:9-12 (paraphrased) and the observation that God has said–in His Word–SEVERAL times that He will protect and nurture the believer.

“Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.”
–Psalm 91:9-12

While reflecting upon this exchange later, it was decided that the response was INADEQUATE because ONE IMPORTANT POINT was left unsaid at the time–because it was not thought of.

That one point was an observation based on what God’s Word in Genesis tells us about God’s creation of man.

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

“And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. “

That unthought-of point not made during that discussion was the following:

God created man and gave man the garden of Eden to live in and enjoy.

FROM THE VERY BEGINNING, God intended and created an idyllic life for man.

In other words, God ORIGINALLY intended for man to live in a world WITHOUT a bumpy road to walk.

All man had to do was be obedient to God’s commands and this ideal life would continue on and on.

BUT, man being man and the serpent being deceptive (not much has changed over the years), man had other ideas.  And so man has paid a penalty for his disobedience to God’s commands.

Back to the answer of that question: “YES!  Man’s road is supposed to be without bumps because man was originally created to live a life without a bumpy road.”

And, if any lesson can be drawn from all this, it is: there is a price to be paid for (unrepentant) disobedience to God’s commands.

Whether that disobedience happened in the garden of Eden or today, in one’s backyard.

DOES the reader believe that obedience to God’s commands is just a nice thought–and not much more?

DOES the reader put off thinking about the consequences of his life’s actions until some unspecified time in the future?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?

The Desire to ‘Move On!’

When someone expresses their desire to “just move on” OR advises someone else “Forget about it. It’s time to move on!”: they are mouthing a thoroughly modern sentiment.

In fact, finding the origin of the phrase “move on” resisted the best efforts of more than one researcher.  Likewise for “move on‘s sister phrase (also popular) “Let it go.”  As far as “move on” was concerned, the best that was accomplished was to find various definitions–and the VERY infrequent quote.

(intr) to put a difficult experience behind one and progress mentally or emotionally

But despite the phrase’s lack of a paper trail, it has become quite popular in the times in which we now live–particularly if one is not interested in arriving at the truth of a matter.

The desire to “move on” appears to be strongest when someone does NOT want to consider what has happened in a circumstance OR possibly, why.

It is also heard frequently when someone is anxious to change the subject OR what might be done IN THE FUTURE to prevent those behaviors which had unpleasant outcomes.

“I’m so ready to move on!”

It seems apparent that the person who wants “to move on” has LITTLE interest in discussing the subject at hand and would rather discuss something else entirely.

This was brought to our attention lately when–instead of carefully considering why an outcome–which was NOT favorable–occurred–the person just shrugged their shoulders and claimed “I’ve already moved on.”

At that point, it was decided that the EXACT OPPOSITE of such concepts as careful consideration, contemplation, weighing one’s actions or examining the facts is “I’m moving on.”

Has the reader become aware of this phrase during his daily routine?

Did the reader consider what was being said OR did the reader just believe it was a more concise way of saying, “Turn the page“?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
