Is There ANYTHING More Useless Than the Latest Plea to “Wake Up!”?

Is There ANYTHING More Useless Than the Latest Plea to “Wake Up!”?

One aspect of modern life which would be difficult to ignore is all of the regular begging that goes on for others to “WAKE UP!”

Whether it’s an email, one of the church folk, personal pleading from an acquaintance or one of the MANY YouTube videos on the subject (usually the videos are titled “PEOPLE Wake Up!”), the number of people asking others to WAKE UP! (and the more polite among them urge their listeners/readers to PLEASE Wake Up!) appears to be part of an end times growth industry.

Perhaps the reader has seen one of these urgent calls while surfing YouTube?

Many of those videos urge those who watch to “Wake Up!“–almost ALWAYS adding “…before it’s too late!”

HOWEVER, is there ANYTHING more useless than trying to wake up someone who does not wish to be awakened?

Perhaps the reader has received, in his email, one of these video messages urging him to “Wake Up!“?

Did the video cause the reader to smile sadly or perhaps to chuckle a bit?

Alas, all of these urgent messages are little more than wasted, meaningless words.

Absent a move from God Himself, people CANNOT “wake up” from a SPIRITUAL slumber–ESPECIALLY deception.

All of the urgent appeals to “WAKE UP!” reminds one of all of the (mostly) well-meaning folks who believe that there is a POLITICAL solution to what ails the country.

There is not.

In fact, in the times in which we now live, being “woke” is being used as a ‘proof’ that the person who is ‘woke’ is headed down the wrong path; that the ‘woke’ person is NOT awake but has been brainwashed by forces who are against mothers, freedom and warm milk and cookies.

And so, as the climax of human history grows ever closer (the return of Jesus Christ), the sheer number of meaningless calls to “WAKE UP!” will likely INCREASE, not DECREASE.

Mark that down to the clueless having no other action they believe will change to course of the runaway train they can see they’ve climbed aboard.

Does this mean that there is NO HOPE for change among men?

NO, it does not.

The only EFFECTIVE words one can pass along during the coming days/weeks/months is the gospel of Jesus Christ: it is the power of God unto salvation.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

When one preaches the gospel to a person who is lost, he is not only giving that person a fighting chance to overcome great odds against him, he forces that person to make a choice–even though only a FEW will make the right choice.

And if someone hears the gospel and doesn’t respond to it, THAT is a choice.

So, during the end times, the gospel of Jesus Christ are the only words one can use which can have a positive outcome.

Unfortunately, most will reject this sound advice and will continue on shouting meaningless words to all of those who really have NO serious interest in hearing them.

Like “WAKE UP!”

[Now might be a good time to remind readers of what happens when one tries to awaken someone who STRONGLY wishes to remain asleep: the person being woken BECOME ANGRY.]

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”

HAS the reader seen one of these urgent calls to “WAKE UP!“?

Is the reader NOW awake because of that plea?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?
