“Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.”
–1PETER 2:7-10
God began His creation with the idea that he wanted to create people, from which he wanted to find people who were a peculiar treasure, in that they wanted God to be their God and they wanted to be His people.
“And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.”
—Jeremiah 24:7
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”
—John 4:23
“Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
—Ezekiel 37:26-27
At first, God chose Jacob and his sons to be the source of his ‘peculiar treasure.’
“For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.”
–Psalm 135:4
BUT, later–after He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth as a savior for ALL men–God enlarged the pool from which He searched for His ‘peculiar treasure.’
“I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles”
–Isaiah 42:6
This has been God’s plan and purpose FROM THE BEGINNING–which throws into doubt all of those church pastors who claim “God has a particular plan and purpose for you. We can help you find what it is!”
It is no great secret.
GOD’S PLAN has ALWAYS been to find a people who want Him to be their God.
God’s plan for each individual person has been to help that person OVERCOME the world and find the narrow path to salvation.
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
–Matthew 7:13-14
God has ALWAYS wanted a people who FREELY chose Him to be their God–over EVERYTHING else they knew or had experienced. He KNEW the vast majority of the people he created would reject Him, but He was willing to make that sacrifice of His creation–which he loved–in order to find those FEW who FREELY CHOSE Him to be their God.

It is also no great secret that God WILL judge ALL men according to their actions.
“Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”
–Acts 17:31
OF COURSE, those who have chosen lives of disobedience–the wicked, the evil, the foolish–spent a significant portion of their lives discrediting what God’s Word declares.
It is little wonder that the wicked, the evil and the foolish do not believe the Word of God: the Word of God does not have much good to say about the wicked, the evil and the foolish.
For example, Ezekiel 34:16 is bad news for those who imagine that they control this world and that their machinations made in the dark are somehow NOT part of God’s plans.
“I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.”
–Ezekiel 34:16
Yes, God WILL judge the world.
Yes, God WILL judge ALL men.
Yes, God’s judgment will be perfect and just–and His judgment WILL be final.
But, God’s judgment will be tempered by His always-present mercy and grace.
“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
–Lamentations 3:22-23
It is because of God’s great mercies, which He desires for ALL of His creation, that He will continue offering eternal salvation to ALL who sincerely desire it.
RIGHT UP UNTIL THE VERY END.
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
–2PETER 3:9
“And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.”
–Isaiah 30:18
WILL the reader be one who accepts the LORD’s great mercy?
OR, will the reader put off that decision until it is TOO LATE?
IF the reader is one who waits, what is it, exactly, the reader is waiting for?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
