BECAUSE those who enjoy the acclaim of the world KNOW what history REALLY is and how it works, many of those folks exalted by the world have had something to say about the grand narrative we call “history.”
And what they have said has NOT been very complimentary.

History is essentially the propaganda of today put into the mouths of those who lived yesterday in order to serve a purpose tomorrow.
“He who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.”

These thoughts were provoked during this past week when an acquaintance made the observation, “History is just not that useful, is it?”
When this acquaintance was informed of what other, more famous folks, had written about history, he chuckled.
Not the kind of chuckle one hears after something funny has been said, but the kind of chuckle one hears when the chuckler feels what is being said has, perhaps, overstepped its boundaries.
One of history’s GREAT advantages is that it is taught to EVERY CHILD in EVERY schoolhouse as the TRUTH.
HOWEVER, history is that grand narrative; that epic retelling of what supposedly has happened; that great story which illuminates the future by shining a light on the past.
In a country’s history, all of its leaders are giants among men.
In the telling of a country’s history, all of the soldiers are honest and brave and wonderful.
In the telling of a country’s history, all of the women are beautiful and SMART.
And, with any great story, there must be storytellers.
The public believes these storytellers, who are called “historians.”

But the REAL storytellers are those who finance the scriblings of the historian.
One day, believers will know all.
But today is not that day and until that day arrives, man is cursed to contend with histories instead.
DOES the reader follow along the various histories AS THOUGH those tales actually happened as told?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
