Recently, an acquaintance who has quite a high opinion of his abilities–AND the world’s–was relating the many physical preparations he had made (in case of future, unforeseen circumstances–and why his preparations, not only made perfect sense, but should be followed by anyone who had a lick of sense.
“Not only do we have ammo, we have the ability to make MORE ammo! Not only do we have food, we have LOTS of seeds to grow MORE food later! Not only do we have plenty of cash, we have gold stashed too! Gold is ALWAYS gonna be worth something!”
Not wishing to disturb the visions of sugarplums dancing in this man’s head, NO response was given to the man’s planning BEYOND a “Is that so?”
HOWEVER, the noncommittal response did NOT mean that there was no pondering taking place.
There were a NUMBER of questions which might have disturbed the man’s revelry over his PHYSICAL PREPARATIONS.
(And, by the way, WHY was the man declaring all of his preparations to the listener?
Was he trying to convince the listener–or himself?)
1- What does one do when one runs out of the material to make ammo–and THERE IS NO MORE AVAILABLE?
2- What does one do when seeds eventually grow old and unproductive?
4- What does one do when one’s friends and neighbors appeal for food? What does one do when members of one’s family make the same demands?
5- Why is it that hoarding items of value seem to make many hoarders MORE fearful of the future, not less?
These are only a FEW of the questions one might ask those who believe they can PHYSICALLY prepare for what’s coming upon the earth.
Once one places one’s faith in the things of the world to see him through a time of chaos and uncertainty, one most usually begins to worry MORE about one’s future circumstances.
HAS the reader fallen in the snare of making and re-making (and then making AGAIN) PHYSICAL PREPARATIONS for the end times?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?
THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
