God’s Quiet Judgment Confuses the Weak-minded

“Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.”
–Ecclesiastes 8:11

Several years ago, someone asked the question, “Do you think God is still smiting people?”

If memory serves, after a few moments’ thought, an answer was given.

“Yeah, I still think God is smiting people, although I don’t think He’s as public about the smiting as He was in the past when He was trying to teach man a lesson.”

Recently–upon reflecting on that long ago conversation–a few ADDITIONAL thoughts were added.

1- CENTURIES AGO (before the Bible was finished or available), God was more PUBLIC in His smiting because it was one way He had of letting man know, “Hey!  You better do what you are supposed to because I do what I say I will do!”

2- CENTURIES LATER (after the Bible was finished and available) God uses His Word to inform man what will happen to those who are UNREPENTANTLY wicked (or evil or foolish).

Because end times man does NOT generally believe God’s Word, end times man is handicapped by a lack of knowledge. End times man believes that because he doesn’t visibly see God’s judgment EVERY DAY (with a big sign saying “This is the judgment of God!”), God is not judging men. OR him.

3- God promises in His Word that He will punish those in iniquity (sin). However, because God’s judgment is not generally as public (or on display) as it once was, the weak-minded grow confused.  (The deception of the weak-minded only ADDS to their confusion).

4. Because God’s judgment is not on display (as much), many moderns take this lack of VERY PUBLIC JUDGMENT as a lack of judgment.

It is not.

The reader can SEE with his own eyes the judgment of God happening EVERY DAY IF he watches for such occurrences.

Regardless of the reader’s diligence: God’s Word is true.

“Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.”
–Isaiah 3:11

“But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.”
–Ecclesiastes 8:13

Once more: God is not as flashy as He once was in SMITING the wicked–but He is still handing out judgment. It is a more QUIET judgment than before: as stated, there are several reasons for this. BUT, the weak-minded are easily confused and they become confused by (what they believe to be) a LACK of God’s judgment.

Do not be confused.

God’s Word is true: the wicked will be judged.

“Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.”
–Ezekiel 18:4

DOES the reader believe that God is judging men in our present day?

DOES the reader believe he will face God’s ultimate judgment?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” -–Romans 1:16
