The End Times Unplugged

unplugged

Over the past four or five decades, the United States has certainly become an electrified country.

At home; at work: almost everywhere there is a power supply. Which is most commonly, some sort of electricity.

Has the reader ever wondered how the USA (or the world) would operate WITHOUT a constant supply of electricity?

Apparently, not very well.

Could We Survive a Long-Term Power Outage? What would happen in an apocalyptic blackout?

The predictions of what would happen to those who live in America IF the electric power grid went down for an extended period have been dire. Some estimates claim two-thirds of Americans would be dead within a year. Others put the death toll at 90 percent of Americans dead within the first year. Loss of the Electric Power Grid: CHAOS on a Widespread Scale

Without electricity, cellphones are just little blocks of plastic, wires and glass.

Without electricty, food, water and fuel have a MUCH shorter shelf life–IF any can be procured at all.

Without electricity, fuel and water cannot be pumped.

It is speculated that few occurrences would disrupt modern life like a loss of electricity for any length of time.

YET man survived–and thrived–for CENTURIES before electification.

How did he do it?

Fifty years ago, many farms–even those connected to the power grid–used spring houses to keep their persishbles cold.

Many houses in rural areas also had root cellars–to stores vegetables and to furnish a supply of various foods in the winter months.

Many homes preserved a variety of foods by canning.

Some houses even had larders.

Water–and, on occasion, one’s body–was heated by fire.

This led to expending a LARGE amount of time and energy procuring WOOD, in order to have a fire when it was cold.

IF one had a springhouse, one had access to a spring–which meant that one had access to clean, flowing water.

Lifestyles were very much different without electrification: there were no TVs, no radios and no video games. With a lack of distracting choices, reading, talking and thinking were MUCH more favored activities.

Instant communication was something mostly confined to science fiction–as was advanced medical testing.

Life WITHOUT electricity would be much more simple.

Late night host Craig Ferguson provided a fair summation of the ‘no power’ situation several years ago.

“A new study says by 2030 household robots will dominate every phase of our lives. The study says the Number One field for robot growth is medicine. That makes sense. Robots already perform well in surgery. That is, until there is a power outage. Then it’s just a coat rack leaning over you as you bleed to death.” Craig Ferguson

DOES the reader believe that electricity will be around because “we’ve had electricity since I’ve been alive“?

DOES the reader believe the stories about electricity he’s been told?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” -–Romans 1:16
