SOMETIMES, an event will lead to a number of OTHER events.
This was effectively demonstrated recently. While scanning through some assorted musical files, a previously-undiscovered song was unearthed.
The song was a catchy little tune with a good beat, but the girl singer kept singing “God is wrong.”
This led to a number of reactions–one of which was trying to run down the identifying characteristics of the song in question: who was singing it and the name of the tune–including eventually removing the song from the collection in which it was found.
Unfortunately, ANY identifying information was never uncovered.
IF EVER there was a argument that music–especially the modern variety–was a form of propaganda and was used to indoctrinate listeners, THIS SONG could be Exhibit A.
Since propaganda depends upon repetition–and the singer kept repeating “God is wrong” ad infinitum–it brought up something that a past master at manipulating the public with propaganda once said. “If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it.”
—Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Minister of Propaganda
THIS thought led to another thought expressed by the BOSS of the man who said that quote–himself no slouch when it came to slinging propaganda at the public.
“The victor will never be asked if he told the truth.”
–Adolf Hitler, Propaganda, the Big Lie and Adolf Hitler: 20 Hitler Quotes on Propaganda
This led to several HOURS of watching videos on YOU TUBE–mostly of atheists and non-believers making their arguments that 1- God did not exist; and 2- IF HE DID EXIST, God wasn’t very good.
Those viewings provided a few takeaways.
1- When arguing that there is no God, the non-believer ALWAYS speaks in a well-modulated voice and appears to be a paragon of reason.
2- The atheists (or anti-God groups) almost always appeal to SCIENCE! or NATURE–as if those were beyond dispute and the source of ALL truth–instead of repositories for beat-up old stories that most youngsters do not believe (before they are indoctrinated).
3- When these discussion take place in front of studio audiences, the crowd in the studio usually applauds VERY enthusiastically whenever the anti-God person APPEARS to make a good point–whether or not that point is valid.
4- The “fall-back” position seems to ALWAYS be that if “There-is-no-God” argument cannot win the day, then “I-don’t-know-that-there’s-a-God” becomes the last line of defense.
LASTLY, the task which ended up being the final one was checking to see what was written about “Can God be wrong?”
Perhaps it was because this task was the last one to be done.
Perhaps it was slowing up once one sees the end in sight.
Perhaps it was just the effects of fatigue.
WHATEVER the reason, this last task (which ORIGINALLY was the PRIMARY job), had the LEAST amount of time devoted to it.
Two appeals were INITIALLY selected–and then rejected. The first appeal was to God’s Word.
“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”
“For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
“Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee”
The reason for NOT relying on these little nuggets of truth should be evident. IF one is so deceived that one applauds for a person on TV who does not believe in God; if one cheers for the OBVIOUS fables of SCIENCE!, then one will most likely NOT be swayed by God’s Word–even if it is the ONLY truth that person will hear.
“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.”
The second point to be rejected was to appeal to the experiences of the believer (which confirm God’s Word).
BUT, the experience of the believer is NOT the same experience the non-believer has.
Else, the non-believer would most certainly be a believer.
Asking a non-believer to consider experiences and testimony which he himself CLEARLY lacks is like trying to get a man who doesn’t have a CLUE what the Fourth of July is about, to spend money on fireworks to celebrate that American holiday.
SO: can God be wrong?
God CANNOT be wrong–but when God is considered by the puny intellect of man, man not only uses man’s reasoning and logic, man ALSO uses man’s point of view.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
So, a man may THINK God is wrong…
A man may BELIEVE God is wrong…
A man may FEEL God is wrong…
BUT God is NOT wrong: God is right.
BUT because so much of what is indisputable proof is not taken as evidence by the deceived, that is where this particular point in this particular discussion will remain UNTIL those with NO EXPERIENCE in the matter gain some. DOES the reader believe God is right? OR, does the reader believe God can be–and is–wrong?
DOES the reader believe God is right?
OR, does the reader believe that God can be–and is–wrong?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?
THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ” –1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” -–Romans 1:16
