“Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”
Many of those who have “Jesus” on their lips complain that their prayers to God go unanswered.
And those same folks often wonder, “Why is this?“
Many times, the answer lies in Matthew’s 21st chapter, verses 21 and 22.
IF one prays WITHOUT DOUBT (WITHOUT DOUBT that the prayer will be answered; WITHOUT DOUBT that God hears that prayer; WITHOUT DOUBT that God will do as He has declared in His Word), then one will pray successfully and will see with his eyes the results of those answered prayers.
DOUBT IS THE ENEMY OF FAITH.
Doubt destroys the “evidence of things unseen.”
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
IF one doubts, one CAN NOT have faith.
And without faith, God will not even hear someone’s prayer–let alone answer it.
God does NOT reward doubt.
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
“And he that doubteth is damned…for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”
SO, when the reader prays, PRAY WITHOUT DOUBT.
The results of that prayer will be like night and day.
Doubt is truly the enemy of faith.
And doubt’s younger siblings (worry and fear) are not far behind.
DOES the reader give in to worry and doubt–even for a little while?
HAS the reader ever wondered about WHY he chases his mental tail around in circles so often?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?
THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
