Pray Without Ceasing: Just One Piece of Wisdom from 1THESSALONIANS 5

If the reader was looking for some good advice to help guide him in this life, he could do worse than follow the directives set forth in 1THESSALONIANS 5:14-22.

Those 9 verses contain twelve valuable bits of Godly wisdom/advice IF followed.

Perhaps the best-known of those twelve commands: pray without ceasing.

HOWEVER, ALL twelve are valuable instructional guidelines.

  1. Warn them that are unruly.
  2. Comfort the feebleminded.
  3. Support the weak.
  4. Be patient with ALL men.
  5. DO NOT render evil for evil to ANY man.
  6. Rejoice evermore.
  7. Pray without ceasing.
  8. Give thanks for EVERYTHING you do or come in contact with.
  9. Quench not the Spirit.
  10. Despise not prophesyings.
  11. Test ALL things and cling to what is good.
  12. Avoid ALL appearances of evil.

IF the reader based his life around these twelve commands, he will live, not only a productive life, but a happy, fulfilled one as well.

IF the reader SINCERELY wished to improve his life, following these twelve bits of wisdom would be a GREAT starting point.

By “following these twelve bits of wisdom,” it is meant that the reader need devote himself FAITHFULLY–and not just follow along to ‘see what happens.’

Each of the twelve (number seven has already been addressed) could stand some more in-depth coverage.

Which sounds like a good future project.

God willing.

“Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. “

HAS the reader ever wondered how his life might be better IF he followed what was written in the Word of God?

(And follow what is written–NOT what someone else insists has been written.)

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
