Satan Has Had CENTURIES to Study Man

Although there has not been much written about it–and what HAS been written confirms (in so many words)–most successful predators STUDY their prey before they hunt them down.

Predators may actively search for or pursue prey or wait for it, often concealed. When prey is detected, the predator assesses whether to attack it. This may involve ambush or pursuit predation, sometimes after stalking the prey. If the attack is successful, the predator kills the prey, removes any inedible parts like the shell or spines, and eats it.

And so, Satan–as the ULTIMATE PREDATOR–stalks his prey: man.

BUT, Satan is highly intelligent–and so, Satan has studied man (and man’s WEAKNESSES) for centuries.

In order to improve his “kill rate.”

(Kill rate is part of ‘mortality rate’ OR, in Satan’s case, ‘immortality rate.’)

That Satan is a predator of man–though no other predator hunts its prey’s SOUL– is confirmed by God’s Word.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour”
1PETER 5:8

As Jesus put it

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
–John 10:10

Satan–as man’s GREATEST enemy–sees mankind as one, big  juicy MAN-BURGER.

Except Satan is rarely looking to snare a man’s body: it is the man’s SOUL that Satan is interested in procuring.

Perhaps this demonstrates to Satan a sort of victory over MAN, Satan’s arch-enemy?

Maybe Satan believes this demonstrates to God the flaws in His creation?

Maybe misery REALLY does like company?

Or maybe, Satan just enjoys the thrill of the chase?

Perhaps it’s a bit of all four?

Whatever the reason, Satan is the apex SPIRITUAL predator of unsaved men everywhere, at every time–but especially during the last days.

Like any good hunter, Satan will pick out the weakest member of the pack to attack first. And how is the ‘prince of this world’ to know who is the weakest, but through STUDY.

And Satan studies man to find those with the biggest spiritual weakness (sin).

Vanity, greed, lust are some of the best-known spiritual weaknesses of man.  But there are others: gluttony (a type of lust), a desire to be ‘somebody,’ chasing after the things of the world, idolatry and MORE.

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
–1JOHN 2:15-16

One thing about Satan: he is a leisurely hunter: he will get around to better men EVENTUALLY, but he will take the low-hanging fruit first.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
–Ephesians

Satan’s VERY LAST choice among the men he preys on is the follower of Jesus Christ.

Probably because the believer possesses the tools to fight back against the wiles of the devil.

–Ephesians 6:10-12

So, once more: as a hunter of men’s souls, Satan studies man, particularly to identify those who are spiritually weakest.

What will Satan find when he studies the reader?

Most importantly, does the reader know what Satan will find?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
